I got a gift of $40 in my PayPal account. So I bought TLOU off of PSN for 19.99. I ordered it on the PSN app and it said error, so I made the mistake of pressing complete order again, and I got charged twice for one game. I called Sony and they said there was no double charge on my account, told me to call PayPal, so I did and they said I would have to contact Sony. It was turning into a classic run around, and a royal screw, so I filed a dispute on the extra charge. 1 minute later my PSN account was banned, called Sony and they said it was because I had a chargeback on my account, and they wanted me to pay 19.99 again with a PSN or Credit Card. But there was no money in my PSN wallet, nor in my PayPal account, so $40 basically dissapeared. So to get my account unbanned, I am going to wind up paying $60 for a $20 game.

Sucks dude. I haven't had any issues since using PayPal and I prefer it to using my credit card, Hopefully it gets sorted for you soon.

Sounds a bit like people's guns disappearing using the destiny app and then being told they can't do anything about it. I use PayPal for all my dlc/in game purchases and have never had a problem, but then again I don't use a flimsy app to do so.

Should've bought Xbox. They just refunded me 120$ when there was an anonymous charge on my account.
-
RIP. Sorry to hear that.
-
But remember kids, Sony is better than Microsoft.
-
It wasn't pay pal that -blam!-ed you it was Sony. You're not the first person they've done this to and you won't be the last. Their policies on these kind of issues are pretty -blam!-ed up.
-
Sounds like classic quality Sony customer service
-
Never happened to me ever on PSN. Meanwhile on Xbox I've had massive problems with their trash customer service.
-
you will need to gather evidence What happened What you have been told A record of what you bought Once you have that jump on a PC and do a live chat with them don't phone them
-
Lol, this doesn't happen with Microsoft. #america
-
One more reason not to use Sony. You don't get this with Microsoft - at least I havny. I deal with both Sony and Microsoft as part of my work. My experience has lead me to avoid all Sony Products due to bad service and very poor support - I used to be a mega fan.
-
I've bought every game I own digitally with PayPal and never had an issue. That said, never, ever complete the order a second time (after an error) without checking your PayPal first. While I've never had issues on PSN, I've had this issue using eBay and eBay played dumb. I had to call PayPal a few times to speak to someone who credited my account.

Yeah, I know what you mean: this morning I couldn't get my shoes to tie and I was almost late to work. That's life for you I guess, right?! :D

That's unfortunate OP hopefully it gets sorted out. If you haven't already I'd call back and see if you can talk with a supervisor.
-
Obviously you have little experience in getting screwed. Call up and talk to the persons supervisor. Keep going up until you get an answer.

Edited by Bytehoven: 8/12/2015 4:53:02 PMIf it was a Destiny upgrade, paying $60 for a $20 item sounds about right. Seriously though… did you ask to speak with a higher tier manager? It seems like most issues with 1st tier support staff need to be resolved with someone higher up. I hope you get your $$$ back.

Some lady had this same problem at work, but she was buying $300 worth of groceries lol
-
That's stupid

Edited by SoulEatinFool: 8/12/2015 4:34:43 PMThat's ridiculous. The only time I've had to contact support it went very smooth for me. I was automatically charged for a month of PsNow after the brief trial period ended, and I was able to have that charge put back into my wallet with no fuss or trouble at all.

Ughm. Amazon ftw?

Classic Sony screw up.
