I think that the raid exotics, poe exotics, and maybe the bounty exotics should be upgrade to year 2 damage, as they had different ways to be obtained unlike the rng ones
And they would be a reason to go back to year 1 activities, like if everything from year 1 is going to be left behind, there would be no reason to play these activities, but if these exotics would be upgradable, there would be a reason to go back to these activities and obtain the weapon, like the vex Mythoclast from vog, or an elder cipher from poe

I agree on the raid exotics and maybe the PoE exotics, but not the exotic bounty weapons. Pretty much no one uses SGA (Atheon oracles aside) And the same goes for bad Juju all tho it's used more in Crucible which you can still do. Invective is getting upgraded Thorn not getting upgraded is a blessing for Iron Banner and Trial of Osiris Pocket infinity is also rarely used
