The story needed more cut scenes. Basically, what we see in trailers is 95% of the cut scenes.
The first cut scene was nice but why was it the first one? See, this is the problem with storytelling in this game. The battle between awoken and oryx, how and why did it start? When did oryx arrive? What happened that caused the queen to sent her fleet to destroy the dreadnaught?
I did not like the way taken king's story was told in the main story missions. The story was short and when you are done with it you don't feel like oryx was a big threat. Only one guardian defeated him (I am not talking about the boss fight difficulty) when the vanguard kept saying that an army was needed to take him down. I really expected this huge war between oryx and his army and the awoken, the vanguard and the City, but this is not what happened. I thought this was going to be like Star Wars when the good guys were trying to destroy the Empire. The build up was great, but the story and conclusion were poor. This story had so much potential. I really like the hive storyline (it's my favorite one) but I was disappointed with the main story of TTK. I like some of the story missions though, like the one where you go back to crota's chamber, but overall, the story could have been much better. Better than previous expansions? An improvement? Yes, but as I said, I expected more.
