For those saying hardscoping is bad. People get impressed by quick scope and no scope montages but the most important factor imo in sniping is consistency and reliability with which you get kills. It's fine to do a montage with a collection of 1 out of every 10 sick shots but imo a consistent less flashy fancy sniper is possibly a more valuable teammate than one trying to land that 360 no scope

  • Great thoughts. I completely agree. For montage sakes, obviously the more flashy kills make better clips but trying to be a good sniper is not about flash. It's about providing long range support and being able to control critical choke points on maps so that your team and accomplish its goals. A good sniper is a support role IMO. Someone who can help clear out enemies efficiently from a distance. Probably for everyone outside of hovey or krafty, and from my personal experience. It's hard to consistently win long range duels of you don't hardscope at all. Yes, short distance quick scopes are entertaining and awesome to get but are you truly doing your job as a sniper??

I agree. but regardless of quick scoping, even knowing where the head lines up instinctively for hard scoped shots is a type of skill (compared to shotguns lol) and nothing to scoff about! Good job on the montages!

  • True. I mean personally some of the best advice I can give to snipers is try and anticipate where your opponents head will line up before scoping on. This hinges a lot on map awareness. Knowing where your opponent is going to be before he gets there or where his head will be located before he turns that corner.
