I'm in the middle of Cairo Station. Frankly, it isn't fun in the slightest. Elites are near impossible to take down, owing to the fact that they can kill you in one burst, immediately run into cover when they get shot and take more than an entire BR clip to just knock out their shields. Unless you are using a pistol+plasma pistol dual wield you won't be able to knock out their shields and headshot them before they can get to cover. AND THIS IS THE FIRST MISSION.
Thoughts/help?

It's a nightmare. I still need help beating halo 2 on legendary ;-;
-
Just wait until you get 420 doritoscoped by a jackal sniper
-
I did it
-
Noob combo is a must on Cairo.
-
Look up speed runs, they help
-
That second hanger on the first level though fml

-
It's even harder on co-op, m8. Not only does the AI and their effectiveness scale, but if one of you dies, you go back to the last checkpoint.
-
Keep a plasma pistol and BR or Carbine for the elites. A carbine or BR for the Brutes. Now the sniper jackals and flood will be a problem.

LASO Halo 2

The first mission is awful on solo legendary, but after that, the game isn't too difficult. You can get through any sniper alley with a lot of patience. But then the difficulty skyrockets when you get to Gravemind. It's honestly one of the hardest missions in any Halo. Just getting past the first room can be a pain.

Ive only tried 5 solo legendary. Seems a bit easy.
-
Plasma pistol + precision weapon. You'll live.
-
I did it. Those banshees on the last level were infuriating to say the least.
-
It's not worth the frustration for me
-
I did it solo legendary. Just wait until you get to high charity.
-
I've done it several times on og xbox.
-
Cairo Station is easily one of the hardest levels. Just keep using the noob combo and you'll make it through. I had a walkthrough handy when I did it, though I used it more as an advisory rather than a doctrine. I'd recommend doing the same.

Plasma pistol

Indeed it's possible, slow and steady will win it. Try the good ol' "noob combo" with the elites. The sudden breaking of their shields causes them to throw a little tantrum for a second or two, allowing for a quick BR to finish them off. Be weary of the flood. If you see one running towards you without firing, try and pick a headshot quick, otherwise they'll say hello with their 12 gauge..over and over again..
-
I have beaten it many times since 2004 and honestly it's so easy for me.
-
Plasma Pistol+precision weapon=profit
-
Lol.....it isn't THAT hard.
-
It's very possible, just hard. When I played it on Xbox in my youth I remember the mission where you needed to find an LZ for Sgt. Johnson to land and you get Instakilled by the Jackal 2.0 snipers
-
I did it back in the day when I had it for my 360. Took me forever.

Yes, very possible. Get duel plasma repeaters to take them out. It's frustrating at first. Plus at the top where the boarding craft land there are few grenades, if you have grunt apocalypse skull on as the come out of the boarding craft that also helps. But as a rule of thumb that isn't the best skull for most of the campaign.
