Edit: So I just saw there will be a season pass for Gears of War 4.........ouch
-
As long as the entire game isn't limited to entire RNG like halo 5s was.
-
God forbid that companies wanting to make money do something to make money. People need to realize that games have not gotten more expensive over the years, and if they have microtransactions for purely cosmetic reasons then what's the big deal if it keeps the games cheaper or funds the dlc? It has no effect on the game, it's to try and make yourself look pretty. As soon as developers start adding in pay to win items then I simply won't buy or play that game, that's when it would become an issue. I don't see how people can be so upset over cosmetic items... Pay to look cooler, or don't. It won't have any impact in the game whatsoever though. People seem way too against microtransactions for some reason. Until it affects the actual game I simply won't care if any game has them. I really don't think I'm ruining a gaming industry by purchasing a game with useless microtransactions. If people feel so high and mighty then don't buy the game. Problem solved.
-
Cosmetic items..... remember we had the exact same thing in gears judgement.... it doesn't effect the game in anyway.... if you don't wanna buy them don't buy them who cares.
-
*throws up*
-
Remember when games had everything in them and you earned them through gameplay? Even DLC, which i've never been a fan of, was pretty decent for a time. Yeah, -blam!- games that keep pulling this shit. This is just Facebook gaming with better development. Play the game, pay for shit extras and socialise while you do it. Gears of War, brought to you by Zynga.
-
Shitty micro-transactions culture. We've only ourselves to blame, will continue to get worse. What would happen if micro-transactions didn't exist? All the cosmetic items would be earned from playing the game, be realistically attainable. Thank god we still have respected developers, publisher who don't force micro-transactions into their game, try bleed their loyal fan base. Praise the sun... \[T]/ \[T]/ \[T]/

As long as it's only cosmetic items I could care less.
-
cosmetics do not ruin the game, if you think it does, you are retarded.

Edited by Tu Chocolate Caliente: 4/17/2016 5:49:01 PMDaily reminder that future games won't have progression rewards like before and now we have to rely on literal party gifts to get random things. Despite all the wrong things Halo 4 did like ugly armor for example it still gave it a great progression system to keep players playing to unlock what they actually wanted. The problem here is not the cosmetic stuff (Gears 3 did this), is that now everyone relies on the random pack of random shit system to keep players on the leash.
-
Ohh god they better deliver some new maps then and not shitty remixes and forge maps and call them free dlc like they do in some other game
-
ITS TIME TO STOP! I'm calling child protective services! ITS TIME TO STOP
-
-blam!-
-
Big surprise Microsoft
-
Gun skins were in gears 3... Who the -blam!- cares if I paid some money for a liquid green weapon skin? Microtransactions does not equal pay to win. Gears has done them since 3 for cosmetic items, and I think it's fine.
-
Hurr Durr but microtransactions are automatically bad and I have no actual reasoning behind it!
-
>People defending it because it will give them free DLC. Gotta love dumb asses who defend shitty practices that are used as an excuse to shove down Micro transaction in every game.
-
You plebs let Bungie get away with it (and even applaud them for it), and now every other dev with a suit running the show will be doing the same things. Congrats.
-
Why are they putting mircro transactions in games where it isn't needed
-
Same since 2
-
Are you surprised? I mean this stuff was in gears 3 and judgement.
-
I mean, it doesn't surprise me, considering Gears of War 3 and Ultimate Edition both had weapon skin DLCs sold separately, or in packages.
-
After what they did with GoW 3, I can't say I'm surprised... I'm on the fence with Halo's micro-transactions. I like how you can buy packs simply by amassing points through playing the game, what I don't like is how it's left completely up to RNGesus as to why you'll get in said packs. I'd much rather unlock something through an annoying task or at least have it as a side option as well. All that said, it means free dlc, then whatever.
-
Has anyone ever used the money made from micro transactions to fund free DLC? GTA maybe but they're more events I guess.
-
NO!!! NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! -blam!- THIS!! -blam!- MICROSOFT!!! I'M SO TIRED OF THEIR MARKETING BULLSHIT!!!! IT'S CLEAR WHAT THEIR GOAL IS. THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY!! -blam!- YOU MICROSOFT!!!! THAT'S ALL YOU DO WITH THE NEXT GEN DEBUTS IN FRANCHISES OF THESE BELOVED GAMES! HALO TURNED TO MICROTRANSACTIONS WITH HALO 5! NOW GEARS?? MY FAVORITE SHOOTER?? -blam!- THIS! Triple A gaming has become the microtransaction shit fest. If I so much as see a single person defend these microtransactions I will -blam!-ing....I don't even know. Words cannot describe it
-
Except all maps and stuff that have real value will be free. The dlcs will all be cosmetic skins and such. Hopefully it remains that way at least hahah.
-
I love how Evolve did this and everyone hated it
