I find it awfully suspicious that a famous youtuber with connection to Bungie (Gothalion was a previous expansion reveal) just coincidentally happened to be world first in the raid among millions of gamers. Even more telling was that he didn't get world first on hard mode once everyone else in the community had experienced the raid. I find it much more likely that as an insider Gothalion had some kind of access to the raid prior to launch.
Edit: I have repeatedly said this is not a very important topic. I don't find much of anything on these forums to be of very much importance, so that's a strange objection to be so common. I think many of you may be taking this way more seriously than I am.
Edit: I have also said numerous times that this is just a theory, merely a possibility. I'm not trying to act like I know for sure that this is the case. But, lets be realistic. People cheat, especially when money is involved. It's not that far fetched. It's not like he stood to get rich off of this alone, but any boost to his channel is a befit to him, and free advertising for Bungie. It's not conclusive, but it's also not implausible.
Edit: A lot of people are talking about how Gothalion had a lot of people giving him suggestions in the chat. I guess this isn't the worst objection. On the other hand I'm not entirely convinced a thousand people typing their opinions in the chat feed at the same time would be much help during gameplay.
Edit: Conspiracy theory is a bit of a stretch here. I mean technically it would be a conspiracy, just not a very important one. Conspiracy theories generally involve matters of much greater significance, whether true or untrue.
Edit: Had to take out "I'm done" because people thought I meant I was quitting the game. As opposed to the popular figure of speech.

2 RepliesSo it's weird that someone who plays a game for a living would be the first to beat something new in the game? Makes sense to me

4 RepliesEdited by Happyjoey547014: 7/1/2016 2:09:58 PMThey got world first by seeing another group wipe to the surprise final attack by oryx. Depending how you feel about that, you can accept them as world first or not. There's nothing suspicious about learning from another teams mistake. Take your spinmetal hat off already.
the fact that world first means anything to you at all shows your level of addiction.
I said this before but everyone thinks he just plays alot therefore is more experienced at the game.

1 ReplyHere is my theory. He only got to be worlds first because I have a life outside of destiny. And in order to support that life, i have to work. Ergo, i was working when they opened the raid and couldnt attempt it until after work. I also didnt have 100s of ppl helping me to analyze each part of the raid to get through it. We had to figure it out ourselves (which we actually wanted to do). As a consequence, we managed to just get to golgoroth on our first attempt.

1 ReplyLower your salt intake and take off your tinfoil hat.

1 ReplyO cool does world first get some kind of sponsorship deal? An exclusive exotic? No? Ok then who cares play the game, enjoy the game stop getting butt hurt over something as trivial as who completed the raid first
-
1 ReplyAaaaaand muted

2 RepliesIt does seem suspicious, but does it truely matter? They get a week of fame for being the world's first and then they end up as another face in the crowd. All it does is give them a quick boost in their dying popularity...
-
3 RepliesIs there a difference between a "you tuber" and a "twitch streamer"? Thanks!!
-
1 ReplyWhat does Bungie gain from giving any one particular streamer inside information? Someone was going to be world first. That person was going to get spotlighted by Bungie. It's a win win for Bungie no matter who gets world first. So why specifically Gothaliathion, or however the -blam!- you spell his name?
-
When i was doing the raid that day i was watching his stream. They blow through it all the way to the Sisters.
-
Why don't you be world's first then?
-
If it hadn't been for 2nd places 1% wipe only moments earlier, they wouldn't of gotten world first. Had 2nd place not wiped and got the world first kill, would you conspiracy theorists think it was inside info?
-
It's their literal job to play games 24/7. If you're as laser focused on the task at hand as any average streamer going for World's First would be, you can start to figure it out within a reasonable time limit. It's not like Goth did KF flawlessly the first time. It took him, what, seven hours or something? And when you have a ton of people observing and offering feedback, that certainly helps.
-
4 RepliesSo the destiny community have literally complained about anything and everything regarding destiny. Congratulations, we're the world first community to have ever done so.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Elitespear: 7/1/2016 1:15:06 PM"I'm done" That doesn't even mean anything. I've yet to see anyone actually be "done". Usually because they've got no balls.

2 Repliesyeah they did it in over 6 hours with lots of communication and with thousands of streamers offering tips and different ideas... must've been a conspiracy!
-
1 ReplyWhat?
-
2 RepliesA group of guys who play this game for a living being the first to complete the raid? Wow. What a concept. Obviously in need of a few conspiracy theories.
-
4 RepliesDatto had world's first Vault of Glass completion. Did he "cheat" too?
-
1 ReplyThey like to call themselves "content creators" now, bud. Not steamers. Lmao
-
2 RepliesWho watches these a-holes anyway?
-
15 RepliesJust because he was a guest of Bungies at one point in time a year ago doesn't mean hes some insider. Oh no someone completed the raid before you, someone also -blam!-ed your mom before your father someone -blam!-ed your girlfriend before you did. It doesn't matter none of this really matters in the first place

3 RepliesGothalion and Broman are two of the worst players I have seen stream and people watch them? Twitch is cancer tbh
