For those who read or watched Harry Potter, let me pose a question to you. If wizards and muggles entered into a world war, who would win?
This came to my mind when thinking back on how Voldemort and his Death Eaters viewed muggles as week and inferior. Sure, magic has lots of advantages in everyday life, but would it be enough if all out work broke out between two worlds? Magic is incredibly powerful, but so is technology. Wizards don't have satellites, drones, snipers, hydrogen bombs, or (as far as I know) an equivalent to much modern technology.
For the sake of this argument, let us say muggles became fully aware of the existence of wizards and magic a few years before this situation took place.
So, I repeat myself, which societies would win a world war? Wizards with their magic or muggles with modern technology?

The Wizards allready lost one war.
Yes I support that theory
-
Wizards just put up protective charms that work against bullets and then be like,"AVADA KADAVRA"(I think that's how you spell it).
-
Wizards hide from muggles not the other way around.
-
Warlock master race
-
Wouldn't a drone strike on Hogwarts eliminate the threat of wizards completely.
-
Wizards can use muggle tech, muggles cannot use wizard spells. accio checkmate

Huh, well that depends. If it was during Harry Potter's time, which was like during the 80's/90's, Muggle tech wouldn't be as advanced as today's tech, so wizards might have a slight advantage. But if they were to fight in the present, then that might be another story. Also, the books only showed off a handful of spells. There might be tons of other spells we don't know about that can be just as efficient as the Unforgivable Curses. Protective spells, combat spells, etc. It all really depends.

I doubt anyone can say "Avada Kedavra" faster than a speeding bullet. Also, bombs. And tanks. And drones. And armies.
-
Technology can be controlled by wizards so they win.
-
Wizards can use a polyjuice potion/invisibility cloak to get to the country's leader then use Imperio on him and force him to do many things like call off the attack or have his armies attack eachother.

Leviosa this bullet
-
Muggles can always fall back on the Soviet strategy. Just throw hordes of men at the enemy. They'll run out of ammo eventually.
-
Wizards can only effectively use killing spells if they 100% actually want to kill whereas a person could kill someone without actually wanting to kill.
-
It'd reach a point of mutually assured destruction.

LUMOS MAXIMA! YOU GOT BLINDED, BITCH!

Guns, tanks and nukes. Wingardium leviosaaaaaaaaaaarrrr out of that one.
-
Little twigs that can also be used as a lightbulb vs nuclear war heads....
-
We have better education than wizards
-
Wizards rarely kill anything. I doubt announcing a spell would beat a repeating wall of lead
-
We have tanks, fully automatic weapons, grenades, etc.

Edited by SuperStormDroid: 7/12/2016 1:43:06 AMRegardless of the result, millions of no-majs (American muggles) will be dead, especially the crap politicians.
Also, can a wizard be able to spam the Avada Kedavra spell? If so, the wizards, more specifically the Slytherin ones, will have the advantage.
Edited by tjustie: 7/12/2016 4:21:41 AMMuggles might win purely because they vastly outnumber wizards. Otherwise, wizards would wreck face. Muggles wouldn't stand a chance. If it was an all out war, wizards would also likely be able to control and set loose certain monsters on the muggle world. It would be chaos. Several death eaters destroyed a large bridge in seconds, and voldemort sent a hurricane upon Britain at one point in the books. Wizards would utterly annihilate muggles if they all went all out.
-
Honestly, I think wizards would win due to ability to take control of anybody and have them do your bidding. All they have to do is drink a polyjuice (I think) potion to turn into someone close to an important figure next thing you know, the president is controlled by wizards.

Muggles would 1440 moni nac the wizards
