How far does the nova bomb follow because i saw yesterday in competitive a nova bomb follow this guy and cut a corner to continue following the guy, kill him, then split in mini bombs that wiped two other players at near full health. I remember all the complaining about tracking on the Sunbreaker hammers but i will say I don’t remember hammers turning corners lol.

Lol but the difference is that it's a one time use super that can actually be easily tricked. It follows the player so if you run around a sharp corner, then it'll hit the corner. That person probably got really lucky.

4 Replies1 bullet legit ends the super from following you.

4 RepliesI think it should play the Jaws theme.

3 RepliesIt's becoming ridiculous in mayhem as it feels like warlocks are just volleying nova bombs across the map and it finds something and gets a kill. I was actively trying different techniques while playing on pc yesterday and had zero success against it. Running it turns corners or even goes up when trying to jump proximity kills. Shooting takes more than one person and it mows you down for standing there trying. Takes at least two hammers to stop one but then it splits and obliterates everything. Managed to team shoot one down but it split and I was killed (at full health) by one of its nova babies. Frankly it smacks of the original d2 design concept of making the game easier for new players. Let's make the largest aoe super in the game designed originally to be a massive hit to a boss or possible pvp team killer and give it tracking awareness, proximity detonation, and explosive munitions that make it basically a guaranteed kill if you even get it within a mile of an enemy. I've literally missed guardians who were hiding in a corner by a hair with my hammer and the survived till I got one straight into their face, and hammers are supposed to break and leave fiery sunspots of damage but nothing like nova. That super never needed tracking and it doesn't now.

5 RepliesWarlock main and what you described there happens very rarely for me. Most of the time it will hit a wall, rock or any other small obstacle it can find instead of the enemy. Its a nice little bonus when the tracking actually works ;)
-
3 RepliesIt can be very hit or miss at times with tracking. Plus you can just shoot it or hit it with another super to dissipate it.

Hush now gregory

Slovabomb’s tracking distance is classified as per the Warlock Order! Be well!
-
Slowva Bomb will sometimes follow you all the way to the main menu. 😁
-
Honestly I like it because it’s hilarious to watch
-
I remember shooting a warlock behind me halfway into his nova bomb animation with the tractor cannon lol he just sat there confused at why it canceled out as I almighty pushed him to a wall. My humor was quinched that day
-
It will turn corners, but if you cut sharp enough, it will cut right in to the wall. They can be outrun.
-
2 RepliesI've seen one track track a strike boss nearly the full circle of the area (forget the name, vex eye at the top of the tower)

It works sometimes. I have had plenty of times where I launch a nova at someone moving in front of me and the doesn’t even attempt to track. It is much more apparent during mayhem.
-
I for one love Slowva becuase of it's tracking.

5 RepliesThat thing straight up does 90 degree turns. I recorded it and will post shortly. I swear. Nova Bombs and stupid Super-flying Solar Warlocks ruin Mayhem for me due to their tracking abilities, at least with hammers I have to calculate my hammer throw because they don't track like they used to... I loathe those Warlock subclasses in Mayhem.
-
Slowva is basically one giant axion seeker. Glad to hear it worked for once. Should explode prematurely if everyone shoots it.
-
3 RepliesAhh but if you are playing a Titan with some kind of Shoulder Charge you can run reverse direction and fly over the top of the Nova Bomb and punch the silly little Warlock in the mouth. It takes timing and a little bit of luck but I have done it a few times. I have also misjudged it and Shoulder Charged the Nova Bomb for a glorious death.

1 ReplyAs a hunter I find it annoying because I’ll try to dodge roll to avoid a nova bomb only to learn it’s the slow tracking one and get a big void testicle to the face 😂 Not calling for nerf, it’s just a great counter to us sneaky hunters when placed right.

I think there must be a random component to it. Iv seen alot of cases where it just misses everything
-
I've had it mis track folks and go right into walls. Can't use it in close quarters.

If only it worked that well most of the time,as it's tracking and effectiveness seems to be at the mercy of RNG when I use it.
