Vex Frames and how they make no sense in terms of Conquest.

Now we are all familiar with the Vex designs. Vex milk in the center, one singular red eye, and laser rifles. They terraform worlds (or consume them). But something I’ve noticed after destroying so many vex, and re-watching old videos on Mercury, is how the Vex in our solar system don’t seem like they make any sense whatsoever. I mean that in a sense of conquest. For time traveling robots they do not seem to put much empathisis on their main combat frames. Or are they built for combat in the first place? I decided to do some digging and found these little gems related to the Vex. Mainly due to their old D1 lore tabs:
Cyclops: “But some evidence suggests that the Cyclops is in fact an enormous sensor or beacon, and that its weapons capabilities are secondary. What the Cyclops senses remains unknown, although its mind core is vast. It may play a role in the Vex networked intelligence, or in navigation across space and time.” Minotaur: “Minotaurs pack brutal heat, but most of their processing power is devoted to the physics of building massive Vex complexes, suspected to extend through multiple dimensions.” Hydra: “Despite its physical slowness, it is a rapid processor of the data fed to it by other Vex”
All of these things have one thing in common. Their combat roles are either secondary or thirdly. Never first priority. This means that all the vex frames we have seen and fought are construction beings. All of them geared towards a purpose of creating a future for the vex. In that way, they’re similar to Halo’s Sentinels. Their only purpose is to maintain their installations and then protect them in case of a Flood Outbreak or a Hostile force seeking to destroy their installation. But, why? Why use construction frames for combat on Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Nessus? What is there to gain from this? Especially when we know that some Vex frames exist and their end goals, thanks to the Books of Sorrow:
XXXIX Verse 4:9 Crota’s gate began to emit warrior Vex, huge and brassy. He leapt forward to fight them, but they blinked away. After they fled from Crota, they killed two thousand of Oryx’s Acolytes and ten thousand of his Thrall. Soon they had established themselves as powers in this world, by right of slaughter. XL Verse 4:10 At this his worm began to chew on him, for he was bound to understand. He called Savathûn to meet in the material world. She told him that the Vex worked tirelessly to understand everything, so that they could build a victory condition for every possible end state of the universe.
From all of this we can gather that War Vex exist, with the specific purpose of combat and conquering. But...if they’re not in our solar system....where are they? Believe me when I say this, but I checked everywhere ingame and on Isthar Collective. Not a damn reference other than what we already got. If I had to hazard a guess as to WHERE they are, I’d say they may be fighting a war on their own. Everything in Sol points to this system being less than a research outpost for the vex. A offsite lab (like the Vault of Glass, Infinite Forest, or the Pyramidion) to do research and send that research back to the main collective to aid them. This would also explain why some Taken were trying to reach the collective on Io. If the vex were winning a War against the Hive, then why not send them to a backwater system (not my insult, probably the Hive’s) and flank them form behind while also gathering Light for your armies? Anyhoo, that’s just my theory on it. If you got something better, I’m all ears!

 • Dude Sol is central to them. There is a possible reason they are Vex ships. Vault of Glass, their main hub. Infinite Forest, their only way to simulate paracausal entities and plot a future where they win (Dark Futures) Pyramidion, massive data storage network Multiple worlds mostly converted -Also a strange note. In the BoS the Hive that went into the Vex side of the gate lost power. So it’s possible Vex who gained power in the throneworld can’t travel in the Vex system without losing it. They might need to stay in the materialHence why they would need ships and require some form of paracausal power. Just spitballing that The plotting of survival is their main focus. We have all three primary functions of that job here in this system. The same system the final showdown is happening. The connection between Ghosts and the Vex is troubling. That the Vex think they share a common “home” is a serious ref flag. Also they were able to fight in the throneworld because that space gave them the Sword Logic power. They don’t have it in the material plane. So their warriors won’t be as effective here (unless the power carries over. In which case they would have to hold them in reserve to protect their central locations. Can’t risk it for normal slugouts) Nah, they got a front row seat to the two main powers it opposes fighting each other to the death. This is a perfect setup for them to manipulate us. They can’t fight us here like they could in the throneworld. So the next best step is brute force plotting a way out of the hole they are in. Which seems to be working since Curse tells us they have multiple ways to win.
