These mods only further amplify an issue introduced with holders tbh. Nobody uses them because there is no room on armor to support the sheer energy cost and their inferiority over scav mods.
It’s going to be the same here, nobody wants to remove finders since they are just too superior. If the mod worked for all guns then maybe but they will only work for specific elements which is even worse since MAX 2 guns will make orbs.
Although the artefact change is good, it’s another 1 step forward and 2 steps back with the orb nerf…
-
Stupid thing is you shouldn't need ammo finders or scavenger mods for a shooter it's bit wierd, then the orb nerf looks like for content that locks ur gear u can't swap looks like arbalist mayb best in slot for all?
-
Seems like an idea from someone in Bungie that hardly plays the game. I can see it costing 3 or 4 making us either not use it at all or ditching ammo finders GG bungie
-
The whole purpose for nerfing everything is to make end game content more and more difficult and require more and more of your time invested. They do this because new content costs more than anything in the game to produce. They are looking more at the financial side of the game and not creative quality and quantity. Players have gotten so good at the game and always finding the most efficient way to complete content and bowing through it too fast. I think we can all agree that we would be willing to pay for more new content and still allow us to have some sort of power fantasy. They are struggling to balance the amount of new content and difficulty of that content to maintain a player base and completion percentage.

If you are going that far with orbs mods how about make my powered melee and grenades create orbs you bums
-
As long as we can slot it in our ghost.
-
So what? Kinetic weapons can’t generate orbs? This is a change that just wasn’t necessary. Why fix it if it ain’t broken?
-
Oh I haven’t seen a post hit 700 dive the “remove sunsetting” debacle or the “remove ever verse” days.
-
Agreed. This is the craziest thing I've ever heard them come up with. Creating orbs with master worked weapons makes the weapon feel important.
-
It will help more than hurt it, weapon memory was on limit because of orbs, removing those allow bungie to inovate weapons
-
Did they say how much will they cost to equip? Hope it’s zero 😃
-
So, they say they're adding more helmet mods that will really screw up that system and don't say anything about moving mods around to spread out the impact? Meaning they have no intention of moving those mods already on the helmet to somewhere else. Meaning they don't care about the terrible impact it's going to have to clutter one armor's options. Just another reason I'm so glad I'll be putting this game behind me by Witch Queen. It's such a damn mess.

Im just bumping all the threads about the orbs. Theres nothing left for me to say that hasnt been said already yet. Guardians unite! ✊
-
....Look at kujay's post. Frees up weapon memory. Most likely a way to make weapon crafting possible or add more perks. They are playing 3d chess not checkers. Usually they do things for a reason we don't always understand right away.
-
the sheer quantity of posts and upvotes against this, I simply cannot believe the sheer revolt bungie has triggered, glad I got out while I still could 😅

Edited by Olórin: 1/15/2022 3:39:18 AMSo if i understand correctly, the orb change was mainly due to the whole Exotics without a Catalyst should drop orbs... Which i agree. So why couldn't they just let Exotics as a whole drop orbs and with a Catalyst drop extra 1 or 2 orbs (Only in PvE). Saves us losing a mod slot in our helmet, that being said, the armour mod system needs updating too imo, mod cost/utlity space should be more lenient since theres more and more mods incoming each expansion/season. Why cant they just have additional Mod slots become available when you masterwork your gear.

Prediction from Bungie's next Dev meeting: "OMG, have you seen all of the negative feedback we're getting? Should we backtrack on it and just allow any weapon to make orbs" "No, that would make too much sense. Just blame it on Steve from accounting, continue anyways, and then we'll nerf a bunch of stuff to take their attention away from the real problems"
-
They should not have said anything at all or they should have fully explained the idea. Lo and behold everyone is bickering about it and they wonder why there various parts of the player base get at each others throats, the answer is bungie antagonizes with the little things they say waits a bit then explains weeks later
-
Watch them add the last storyline mission for Season of the Lost in 3-4 days to cover over this “negativity”, this definitely smells like it was calculated and planned.
-
All in all it's just a...nother kick in the balls.... Here comes Armor 1.0/ 2.0 and weapon elemental affinity/ collections all over again. Or is this just another stealth Sunsetting? I still have an Armor box at the Gunsmith to remind me of past Bungie game transitions. Oh well- even the WQ collector's edition was less than I spent on coffee last month, so I guess my expectations need to be recalibrated... although my coffee doesn't leave a taste like dishwater in my mouth... and my Japanese barista is smoking hot and loves to go snowboarding and brewery hopping with me😂 Embrace the SUCK- it is your Destiny 2. You paid for it. Cheers Guardians 🍻 I'll be boarding now...😉. Oh by the way- Love how they were too chicken-blam- to post a TWAB thread. The Orb threads have more responses then most TWABs anyway. I am calling dibs on the Bungie community ma-blam!- for my Dodgeball team. They are better than blueberries in the Corrupted strike.
-
Hopefully Bungie's huge ego doesn't get in the way of reversing this change. They have a bad track record of being horribly wrong and then reversing changes in the future.
-
Tbh they should just sell the IP at this point they don’t deserve it and clearly don’t care about the player bases enjoyment. Not to mention it would give them what they want most out of destiny, the money.
-
Bump Since I agree

Edited by CookieNiki: 1/13/2022 7:11:34 PMAgreed 100%. And the reason to change it is both absurd and pathetic. This is where Bungie ALWAYS fails big time, they decide to change what doesn't need any changing and they do it without even trying to get previous feedback from the players (the ones who will have to deal with the consequences of those changes). So much hubris! Moving the creation of orbs to Mods is an asinine idea. We're already struggling to have room to use the mods we need for some activities and now they add Orb Making mods to the list. To make things even worse, they make Orb mods to be elemental dependent, so we need to equip 4 Orb mods just to be covered when we switch between weapons with different elements. This change is a stupid idea that doesn't improve anything, quite the contrary, it will just make the game more annoying and convoluted.
-
Love how not one ninja or someone shows up saying they are listening but let it be something stupid than they all appear to Make sure to fix the post or to say something lol
-
I'm waiting to cast full judgement on this issue until I see the weapon crafting system.
-
Is it that most people are just being emotional, or do you all actually think Bungie is “too stupid” or “so lazy” that they don’t fully understand the impact of these changes. I understand the anti-Bungie bandwagon that rolls through during times like these, but come on… This is a calculated decision by them to reign in our capabilities in game. Thinking that they’re uninformed or unaware of what these changes mean is just ignorant. We should be more upset that it’s being dressed up as a quality of life improvement when it’s clearly a power nerf.
