Yes, running any program that touches the D2 process (some cheat tools can/do hook to different processes, debuggers etc) are grounds for bans. You can appeal at the bottom of the page here: https://help.bungie.net/hc/en-us/articles/360049024492-Contact-Form-Appeal-Ban-or-Restriction Unfortunately though, Bungie do not differentiate between cheat tools from one game and one for Destiny so people can't just say that it wasn't for D2. All cheat tools are treated the same and are assumed to be for Destiny 2, if 4-6 weeks go by after you appeal and you're not unbanned then assume Bungie have not accepted your appeal and the ban will stay in place.
