I'm a software developer in my 30s. I work all day, come home, hit the gym or go for a bike ride, make dinner, and take care of the dog. After dinner, I boot up the PS4, create a party with 4 to 6 of my friends... work friends, childhood friends, friends I've just met... We hop in a PS4 party, then we all load up the game. We battle through all of the game's missions together. We take on the strikes. We take on the queens wrath missions. We're working on building up our light levels. We do patrols and bounties, and we all enter the Crucible together.
I am having an absolute blast playing Destiny with my friends. Maybe the difference is that I have a dedicated set of friends whom I can play the game with that make it so much fun, but reading through this board is very interesting to me. It seems that many of the people writing here are having a very different experience than I am having. Is it simply because I'm playing with my friends that I find what the developers at Bungie have given us so entertaining?

No its because all these 9 year old call of booty fans want the game and it's content handed to them day 1 or they cry because hey you have to WORK for something... work is hard. Work is for idiots who have to work. 9 year olds don't have to work so hand it to them.... that's the differance.

What do you have left? The story is barely present, the missions are fundamentally all the same, the events, atleast given Queen's Wrath as the only example, are just basically reskins of the same shit we already have, and an excuse to make us go grind up more for reputation to get... crap really. Especially given that lovely patch Bungie did to it. Face it, the only reason you still play this game, is because of the multiplayer. Without it, you wouldn't feel the need to grind, you wouldn't be invested in the game's universe, you'd feel bored, and tired of seeing the same crap.

the game itself has good enjoyable mechanics / combat , for many of us who were drawn to the game that was shown at E3 , weve been dissappointed.... http://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/2hqmkb/how_destinys_content_completely_changed_over_the/ ..read that to see all that happened and how great of a game this WAS till someone made the choice to butcher the story and screw the open world that was stated was going to be in the game at E3.

You're not alone. Destiny is not a bad game, people just think it's cool to hate. Really stupid actually.

Whoa 4-6 people on missions? I I'm doing something wrong

I've partnered up with 3 twitter buddies. Having people to do the more difficult missions makes the game. I solo what I need & party what I need. It's a great mix

Same here, me and a few coworkers play together all the time, and it makes the game x10 better when you have friends to experience the same crazy things you do

I've had a similar experience, though I only play with one other friend. We have a blast, even just farming upgrade materials in patrol missions for 3 hours is fun! This really is a great game when played with friends.

Like anything, it's what you make of it, I've found a lot of new PSN friends while playing, I solo a lot but I still enjoy the experience either way. Feel free to add if you want Ps4 RagingBull7192 Lv 27 about to be 28 Titan

I'll admit I am quite envious of the fact you have multiple friends to play Destiny with. None of mine even have it

I share your experience. I do find the game a little stale and boring played solo, but I for sure have a great time when playing in a fire team. It's this social aspect that keeps me coming back for more.
