At first I was that guy who had to kill everything on every strike, if I didn't I felt like the mission was incomplete. Now, I am one of those "Kids", who runs straight to the boss. I would rather be guaranteed two Blues after killing the boss in 10 minutes opposed to "Hoping" for a couple additional drops in 25-30 minutes. By the way I'm not a kid, I'm 35, and it's not racing, it's efficient, and time management.

However I'd like to add that some of those points that get skipped are kinda nasty territory, like coming out of the tunnel and into the last building on Mars for Rockets McDickface strike, and the Valley before the Archon Priest with the 2 hydra. If ya run thru there and someone misses a jump or gets the sparrow hung up they are toast and if the other 2 run on its kinda lame and takes time to get by. I like to make sure the team gets thru and no one gets left behind, because being the unlucky one on occasion kinda sucks.

  • I do this - if I find I am the first one through a densely populated enemy area - I will throw down cover fire for my teammates. To be honest though, I rarely do Strikes anymore,

  • If you want to just kill stupid mobs to get drops then do patrol. When i do a strike the goal is to finish the strike, the faster the better.

  • Sorry to have to agree with you, but I do. I'm usually the one who kills everything in sight, but with the lack of random drops and a guaranteed "reward" at the end, your point makes sense. Still, though it is no "Neocron", this game has potential. (39yr single Dad)

  • As someone who gets maybe 2 or 3 hours of destiny play time when the girlfriend is at work and I'm not cleaning, I don't want to take half an hour to finish a strike, if I'm doing tiger I'm doing it for marks or bounties, otherwise I'm soloing things or playing with friends. Not all of us have 8 hours to sit and kill every enemy in every strike. If you don't like it quit. To the people that do rush through, if they are killing the enemies, fine, if they aren't rushing then don't wipe so they spawn ahead. But if they don't move report then for being unhelpful and inactivity. tl;dr play your way but don't force it on others.

If you're capable of getting through the Strike and beating the Boss in 10 minutes it is most definitely not taking you 25-30 minutes to wipe out the Lvl 24 enemies that you are allowed to pass up. It's instead saving you around 5-6 minutes and costing you on average a half a Strike or more in at least Rare drops. Because your not guaranteed anything of value on the end game roll. You could easily get two decrypted blues, a shader, or only one Rare engram after passing 2-3 Rare Engrams from Mob drops on your way to complete it. Try running 10-20 Strikes by not skipping any of the Lvl 24 enemies, time yourself, and average how many Blue Engrams you end up with. More than likely you'll see it's more efficient to speed kill than it is to speed bypass.

  • Totally agree with you. I work 40+ hours a week and also married. When I have "me" time I play Destiny. That's bout 2-3 hours a night. I am not going to waste my time killing the 20,000th dreg unless it it is an objective for the strike. With my short play time it is far more effecient to go for the guaranteed and not the random. I'd still be doing the same if I had 12hours a day to play. Weeding out the greens raises chances at legendaries. I've already decoded 4 legendaries from blues already this week.

  • In order to complete a bounty where I don't need to play the strike on a high level, of course I'm gonna race through it. You can only kill the same guys with the exact same behavoir patterns so many times before it gets monotonous

  •
By the way I'm not a kid, I'm 35, and it's not racing, it's efficient, and time management.
Well, that just makes it even worse that you are 35. It's not efficient, it's inconsiderate. You are the centre of the universe and everyone should revolve around you. Who gives a shit that there is more than you just in a strike group. I bet you were one of those guys that started a strike just to get to the rocket yard because you couldn't be bothered to get there on your own... More efficient, time management? or just a douche? I think the latter.

  • Actually from a lot of the posts in here, you guys are the inconsiderate selfish jerks in playstyle. Because I keep reading that both people are rushing ahead, and they are the only ones staying. So by simple democracy, the group voted for rushing by the very fact the majority favored rushing, it's the selfish malcontent who refuses to ever change even when the majority favor it who is a jerk. And any adult would realize that, just from work experience or wearing big boy pants. But then the world revolves around you, and it doesn't matter if you're the odd one out. Because brats refuse any logic that proves they are in the wrong by their own standards. Bottom line, if two want to stay and clear, it's the guy rushing who's the malcontent. If two rush, it's the jerk with OCD who must kill everything who is. Welcome to adulthood.
