Smoking is bad for you! Really. I've quit over 7 years ago now, when my wife got pregnant with our daughter.
You can do it!
* Edit * So much positive replies! So many people encouraging others to keep it up and giving tips. And here I thought there were only whiny degenerates on these forums! I am proud of you, Destiny community. You rock. :)
* Edit 2 * I can't believe the positivity in this thread just keeps going and going :) Thanks guys!
* Edit 3 * Received a comment that this should probably be in #Offtopic. Maybe, but I started it as a joke, mocking a thread with a very similar title. I never expected it to get so big and so positive. But I am glad it did! (And if anyone is wondering, the story is 100% true, I really did quit 7 years ago when my wife got pregnant with our first. So did she. She was smoking when she took the test, put the half cigarette out then and there when it turned positive and never looked back)

-
Yeah! And if you smoke. And end up getting cancer. Don't say we didn't warn ya!
-
Teach me how man. Longest I made it was a week before I caved..
-
Last cig, November 26, 2:30pm, 1996. :)

Not a smoker, but I'm intrigued by all the posts and replies in this thread. It was a nice break from drowning in the complaints of RNG.
-
I quit 7 yrs ago too! Best thing I ever did!
-
I quit smoking after 33 years of heavy abuse, june this year (i´m 47 and my health was serious injured by smoking). Steaming with e-cigarettes helped me to quit. I wish, I would have done this at least 10 years ago...
-
So I get this was originally a joke, but seriously I need help, I've been smoking cigs for about ten years now (I'm 23) I've tried cold turkey and all these anti smoking things they have and in the end something happens that causes my stress to rise to the point I need a cig. How did you do it and how long did it take?
-
Here I was just at the last straw of all the posts regarding quitters and whining. Nicely done! Also congrats on quitting, you'll find yourself with a bit more money in the pocket too!
-
I quit in March after smoking for 16 years, tried every thing in the past from patches to tablets, but the only thing that worked was the e-cigs

Misleading title but good for you man. Its a horrible habit.
-
Congratulations! I know letting go of it is not easy. But doing it for your daughter, you will be blessed!
-
Lol thats future ariks problem, sucker haha (jk i dont smoke, just making a simpsons reference i think? one of those shows) But seriously don't become a forest firefighter if your trying to quit, upwards of 70 % of us smoke and at least half of them smoke a lot haha.
-
Congrats! Commend you on your willpower :D.
-
I'm just amazed that you used the correct "too" in your post.
-
I've quit smoking cigarettes for over 2 months now but it's because I bought an ecigarette. Not one of those "Blu" ones but a good one... A sigelei zmax actually. Anyone who wants to quit but still needs nicotine should look into a quality ecig. I'm currently using a Jolly Rancher flavored liquid and it's way tastier than a nasty cigarette
-
My dad quit for thirteen years and despite the fact that he started again, that's pretty amazing!

Edited by WTFisTrue: 10/20/2014 11:14:16 PMHaha. You sir! That was funny. I thought this was another "Destiny sucks and I want everyone else to feel the same way" post. Grats though. I can only liken that to me not drinking any pop/soda for 6 years.
