Update 11/13/14 3:20EST: Over 8,000 community members have taken part in this poll and here are the results so far!
PvE: 8428
PvP: 1174
Personally I am a big fan of PvP, but like many others I bought this game for the 'epic' storytelling and co op PvE it was advertised for. Knowing Bungie I expected a lot more from PvP in this game and currently it's just not a go to for competitive multiplayer, but I hope to see improvement in the future.
I understand that many people on these forums are PvE players but there seems to be overwhelming demand for new PvE content and I hope to see a weekly update detailing the future of PvE sometime soon so we can all grind happily knowing it will pay off.
To those of you who wanted to know where the 'both' option was I intended this to be a black and white question with no neutral answer, that's why the question stated what's most important. If you didn't vote that's okay 8,000 other people did.
This was my first post on these forums and i am very satisfied with the response, as a community we all need to keep up the constructive feedback on our ends and help the devs create a masterpiece!

PvE for me, but only just. I'm pretty split. If destiny was only PvE, I would keep playing, but if it was only PvP, I probably wouldn't. That's the clincher for me.
-
Came for a story, got fed a tale, waiting on story..
-
Wow 12% pvp. Last I saw one of these polls it was closer to 10/90. Bungie's strategy of catering solely to the pvp crowd must be working. The tides are shifting!! Or you know, margin of error.
-
At the moment, pvp. Pve is stale and offers little challenge atm.
-
I vote both, I play the whole game
-
I like how it's 8000 to 1000 yet bungie ill caters to the pvp crowd lol
-
It's a shooter so they think that have to pander to the Halo/CoD people. Oh but this a...what did they call it....shared experience online role playing shooter. What ever. This us a MOG Shooter. This poll kinda shows where, at least a decent number of players, sit.
-
Bungie needs to see this and quit making so many things based around pvp. The factions for example. Why does the gear cost crucible? Total bs
-
I love both. I play pve to become better for pvp and I play pvp to get better stuff for pve. That's what keeps destiny going going for me.
-
I buy and play MMOs / RPGs and even, albeit to a lesser extent, FPSs primarily for the story, the PvE grind, etc. PvP is an afterthought - something I participate in from time to time when the urge strikes me. The exception to this was Halo: Reach, which although it had a great campaign I thoroughly enjoyed the PvP in (team snipers ftw!).
-
i love both. i said pvp though, the gameplay is always new in the crucible.
-
If you don't enjoy pvp, it's probably because you suck at it, and I feel bad for you. For me, the whole purpose of leveling up and getting cool gear and weapons in pve is so you can show off and wreck fools in crucible. Step your game up, Guardians!
-
I was hoping that they would have had some PVPVE, mobs inside PVP games like a maze runner style where we are fighting each other whilst running away from some horde of thralls or an overly aggressive ogre chasing down the teams.
-
VoG is the only decent pve content. The rest is easy, boring, repetitive shit and I'm getting tired of the raid too. Pvp needs more sub game modes. Like a no supers playlist.
-
So what's the current score? Number wise...
-
Imagine that.... 8:1 for PvE. They better add more PvP and nerf more guns!
-
This isnt a poll... its a massacre! Ha, youre crushing them! Send them home crying. PvE is no place for mercy. Your Light was not enough, PvP. Gained the lead!
-
Wheres ma money?
-
i mainly brought this game for pvp the pve i really enjoy aswell but without crucible i wouldnt play this game much
-
I'm one of those rare people who like both. PVP is very addicting. The only downsides to it are HORRENDOUS matchmaking & weapon balancing.
-
I think bungie should see this they are too focused on pvp but the ppl want pve
-
...and yet Crucible marks dominate the market, 5:2 shops.

Edited by Fuelled Oats: 11/13/2014 9:40:52 AMConsidering that you have to play the campaign, I would suggest that everybody is a PVE player. Levelling up is a must in raids and strikes to complete the game and I don't know many that would buy a game to exclude playing the main content. The problem with this question is that these two sides were never meant to be compared. The games is one entity, and all parts compliment each other. If you enjoy the Crucible, you play it, if you enjoy doing raids and strikes, you do them. There is no this or that, there is only one destiny and this we must not side track.

Learn the lesson that Wow did years ago. Have seperate gear for PvP and PvE, and create a subclass for PvP. That way when they feel the need to balance something it is only affecting a specific aspect of the game be it an ability, weapon or piece of armor. People will still cry because lets be honest. Who likes to be nerfed? lol

PvE kinda. This is due to the fact that when all is said and done, once you complete the raid, nighfall, and weekly stuff, all you have left is the repetitive daily content. PvE is my favorite part of the game, because its more entertaining. Though currently PvP is what I do most, because it is always different (kinda). When Halo comes out though, I will most likely drop this like its hot and move on to Halo to play that again.
