My trip started when I arrived in Seattle, Washington on Thursday 08/28/08 just after 5:00 PM. I was lucky because [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture014.jpg]Yoozel[/url] got there around the same time I did, so [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture010.jpg]Foman[/url] picked us both up from the airport and drove to Homewood Suites by Hilton, where a majority of Bnetters were staying. We settled in, got our room keys, and checked out what they had to offer. Free breakfast and internet access was pretty nice. I'm not sure if this is standard for all guests, but I had a two room suite with two televisions, a fridgerator, kitchen area, bathroom, bed, fold out couch, ect. For not going on vacation for quite some time, this was very nice. That night, I chilled at the hotel while the other guys went out to party. I stayed in the lobby for a majority of the night on the internetz. I liked how I was talking to [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture003.jpg]Recon Number 54[/url] on Friday morning using the classic Windows Messenger, when he was sitting at a table ten feet away. I went and visited with him while the other moderators came down to join. We headed over to the [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture123.jpg]Penny Arcade Expo[/url] around noon. It was funny that we bumped into [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture018.jpg]Louis Wu[/url] on the way; he is a cool guy. So anyways, there's this huge line and we didn't want to wait in the crowded [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture020.jpg]room[/url]. We just stayed outside until two or so and then got it in line. Considering how many people were there, the line did move quickly. All of us went straight to the Bungie booth and got our t-shirts before they sold out. We hung around there for pretty much the whole day. I think [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture012.jpg]Nosferatu_Soldie[/url] and [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture004.jpg]Anelf3[/url] went to the Fallout 3 booth and checked that out. There was tons of things to do; we were just wandering around. Friday night was fun, but I must keep it clean! [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture069.jpg]THE DON WAN[/url] had her own party, but it was a 21 and up thing. *cries* It was all good because she came out and visited with us for a little bit. Some of the group went in and the rest of us went back to the hotel. Some people *cough* [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture013.jpg]Senor Leche[/url] *cough* partied a little too hard and went to sleep when we got up Saturday morning. [url=http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii147/the_bungie_community/PAX%202008/Picture032.jpg]Duardo[/url] was crashing in my room that weekend; it was cool to get to know him better in person. However, I was visiting with many others and got to know a lot of others better as well. I find it funny that some Bnetters in person are totally different than you think they would be. It's Saturday morning around 9:30 AM; Duardo, CAVX, Achilles1108, BerserkerBarage, and myself were visiting in the lobby. I rush down to PAX to get in line for the Recon Challenge. I thought I might as well have some fun. So, Duardo and CAVX come along. This is by far the best moment ever. We walk up and I see Louis Wu about to go in. I had some papers in my hand so I started walking with Louis Wu and covered my badge. It worked! Louis Wu got me in! CAVX and Duardo a few feet behind get denied access and I could't believe it. There was a second check though, which I got stopped, but still it was cool. I managed to get in right at 10:00 AM and went to the Bungie Booth; they were still setting up. I got in line and held a spot for Duardo. Joe and Lars faced off against us and pretty much owned us with the final score 4-10. So, although we didn't get the Recon Armor, I had a fun time just playing. I think that if we had a chance to warm up or at least knew exactly where the rockets/power-ups were; we would have had a better chance. It's all good though. I was getting Bungie employees to say something short for the vidoc. I also recorded Bungie Trivia with Achronos and had the opportunity to get a custom sketch by Lorraine McLees (mehve). She is awesome; what a cool person to meet. Later on, I went to the Walrus Theatre and watched the Female Game Communities panel, which was pretty cool. After that, I wandered around some more. We ended up eating at an Italian restaurant. There was like over ten of us there and that alone was just a great experience. Sunday morning, I sprint down to PAX again, walking in the door around 10:08 AM. I get to the Microsoft booth, turn my video recorder on, and seriously get like two seconds of film. Thank you, bye. I cannot believe that they would have a ten minute panel for Halo Wars starting when the doors open. I thought that was ridiculous, but none the less, I went over to the Bungie booth. What? No Bungie Trivia! Yeah, so they didn't have it Friday or Sunday... it's all good. So, I decided to get two panels (Power of Gaming Communities & Podcasting -- The New Media) on tape. I thought both of them were interesting and hopefully you guys do too. Mehve didn't like the first drawing she made for me, so she did a second one when I went to the Artist Alley that day. She drew another custom sketch and honestly, both of them blew me away. I was really fortunate to get two from such a great artist. It was getting closer and closer to the end of PAX. Foman changed his flight to the evening, which worked out perfect for me. I went over to the Microsoft booth while they were getting a table at the Cheesecake Factory. The first thing Major Nelson said was no filming, which was meh. Instead, I tried taking pictures of every screen they showed. I was not at the best angle, but I think you guys can make out what most of them are of. In conclusion, PAX was epic win overall. For those of you who couldn't make it this year, definitely come out next year. I want to thank everyone that I met at the event for sharing this experience with me.
