Grow up . Any hobby that gives you 100hrs for $40 is a -blam!-ing deal this DLC has at the bare minimum 100hrs . You idiots don't see the company bringing you in fresh meat for crucible or another teammate to find on forums for a raid , to actually extend the life of the game . All you greedy children want is a plastic strange coin and a stupid -blam!-ing dance you would have to remake a character to even use .

Huh? . Dude it's simple , if you don't like what the company is selling , don't buy it . Lack of sales and preorders is the only way they will learn . I doubt they will have a lack of sales . What's included in the DLC is well worth $40

It's simple for some to just not buy the DLC if we think it's not worth the price... however, there are plenty of gamers out there (COD's fanbase is proof) that will buy anything that seems cool regardless of how shady the deal is. So, developers will continue to put the "cool stuff" into those packages for the sheep that buy it.... and Bungie and similar money grubbing developers will continue use this greedy model for future expansions and DLCs. The enlightened gamers here, you know, the ones that won't buy the DLC on principal alone, is trying to show the sheep the light so that it discourages developers to continue this practice, which in the long run hurts the gamers. Or you can just be one of those type of people in life that just coast through life and sits there and watch dishonorable things happen. Note, money is not an issue for me, it's the point that greed is driving games and this industry into the dirt. This is something I care about because I'm a mature gamer that cares about the big picture, because I understand that it factors into my future enjoyment and interest in gaming. Get it now?

Doesnt matter what one person thinks... for or against. However what the general community consensus thinks (any what they are willing to pay or not pay) does. Regardless of your personal opinion, take a quick measure of how the observable community is reacting. And I am not just talking about the toxic vitriol of the Bungie boards... glance at NeoGAF, Reddit, or even Planet Destiny. Regardless of justified or not, this is becoming a huge problem, and the community as a whole seems to be overwhelmingly upset.

The fact that all of you people are crying about a plastic coin and a dance saddens me . My friend got his XB1 with a free game and $100 less than I paid . Should all of us veteran Xbox owners start crying about being taken advantage of , or be thankful the company is trying to drum up sales and extend the life of the product ..

"You people crying" as you say, is representative of the observable community as whole. The analogy I believe you are trying to make is that veterans should not be mad at the packaging of content together, for a value, aimed at enticing new players. That makes sense and isnt the issue. What you are alluding to is the most common misconception of what the problem is. It makes me question if you really understand the issue, or if you are British, the issues.

I can see at the very minimum 100hrs of gameplay for $40 . The only other thing I have noticed is a bunch of babies crying about a deal to try and rope new players in with .

Again, the $40 dollars is not the issue. Its that if veteran player wants exclusives (for whatever reason, it doesnt matter) there is NO OTHER OPTION but to buy one of the $80 editions. The CE is priced reasonably for a new players, but decidedly less so for a veteran that would be rebuying the majority of the content. Its exploitative to veterans that happen to be collectors and devalues their previous purchases. The other major issue is that the price of TTK in Europe is going to be the same price as the original game. Imagine if TTK alone was being sold for $63 here? You have mentioned that to you, the value is in time played... and that is completely reasonable. Others might see how much content they got for $X and compare that to the TTK price tag. Is that wrong? No just a different way to look at it.

Well it's very simple let me explain to you . When a company puts a product on the market you the consumer need to decide if you are getting a deal for your money . If you think it's too much pass on it chances are you will get a better deal if you hold off . If youre a collector , you are probably going to pay a higher price early on to make sure you get that piece of shit happy meal toy for your no life trophy case . All that said prices have been set and products have been preordered already. Bungie doesn't make the price and activison won't lower the price of a preorder that is selling .

Thats certainly one way to look at it. And its not wrong. But surely by now you must realize not everyone, in fact the majority of players, dont see the situation in such simple terms. Do you know for a fact that Activision sets the prices? That Bungie has zero power in that arena? I would very much like to see how you know this. If the exclusives are so trivial to you, in fact are "shit happy meal toy for your no life trophy case", why do you care about the issue at all? If whether veteran collectors get the items at all has no real impact on you. Why are you so upset?

Since when did a game maker join up with a publishing company just to pay some of its own employees to do the work of the publishers ? . That doesn't sound right .
