A friend of mine just bought one and it makes all of his guns full auto by holding down the trigger. Is it against ToS and/or cheating or is it just frowned upon? Let me know what you think.
Edit 1: By friend I do mean friend. He plays on PS4 but I'm obviously not gonna give his name out and I'm on XB1

I remember those controllers on Super Nintendo back in the day. They were hyped back then, but faded away as people realized they don't make you better. I'm kind of surprised they're still around. Good aim and timed shots are far better than rapid fire. I'd never waste money on something like that.
A friend of mine
Lol sure bud
-
People in here apparently never played COD WaW. Now those were the days for modded controllers lol
-
Yes that's considered cheating and if your friend got reported enough he'd get banned for it.
-
Unless it increases the guns fire rate beyond what it can do then no.

Edited by Fatgull: 8/25/2015 5:32:54 AMIs XIM4 (adapter that allows you to play with a keyboard and mouse) considered modding or cheating? I really would like to play with kb+m, but i dont want to be possibly banned because of it.
-
Your not altering the game it's self , just how your physically playing it so I don't think it's against any rules ?

Edited by W1cked W1z4rd: 8/25/2015 4:16:34 AMScuf controllers, and the new Elite controller are not "modded" controllers as they do not actually change the actual in game function. Do they give a slight advantage? Maybe. A truly "modded" controller has a chip installed that adds features built into it where as you would pull the trigger once, but it fires every round of the weapon. These types of mods are against terms of service in most every game. Here is a quote from a real modded controllers website
Rapid Fire Mods Why stop with an awesome looking controller? Add the latest rapid fire technology to your battle buddy and start dominating the competition! We offer the largest selection of mods including rapid fire, akimbo rapid fire, drop shot, jump shot, fast reload, jitter, auto burst, quick scope, auto spot, and more. Most mods work with the latest first person shooters (FPS) like Call of Duty, Halo, and Battlefield. You can even use some mods with Grand Theft Auto, Skyrim, and Minecraft!
Edited by Club_Malibu: 8/25/2015 5:42:57 AMCops just raided my house because I was using an atari joystick in crucible. Actually that won't up the rate of fire so whatever. May be frowned upon but frankly I don't care.
-
All it is is turbo, guns have a set rate of fire.
-
I know it's specifically prohibited with the Xbox Live terms of service. Haven't a clue on PSN, so I won't talk to that. But on XBL if they catch you they'll ban you.
-
I'm illegal Your illegal He's illegal She's illegal We're all illegal
-
Is the Xbox Elite Controller illegal?
-
You dumb af smh you gotta stop playing destiny
-
My buddy is spending 10 years in jail for having a modded controller hard times we going through
-
Edited by NaCl: 8/25/2015 4:50:29 AMYes, it is illegal. You will be punished by the law of you use modified video game controllers.
kappa
Edited by Ghost J34: 8/25/2015 4:54:02 AMIllegal? No, the cops aren't going to bust down your door for cheating in Destiny. SWAT isn't going to disrespect your family. However, in most cases, if the company (in this case Bungie) finds out you're using one, you'll be banned from their game. How they find out, I don't know. I knew a guy a couple years ago who got banned from CoD for a modded controller. Lols were had that day.
-
Isn't the fire rate already set for most weapons? Like you can pull the trigger as fast as you want for a scout but its still only gonna fire as fast as the fire rate for that particular gun. On the other hand I heard that the full auto perk raises the fire rate limit slightly
-
turbo functions are frowned upon
-
Not 'illegal' but should probably get a ban. Had a friend with one on BO2. He wrecked everything and everyone with his full auto rapid fire FAL. I laughed my ass off as I was certain he was going to be banned as he was reported just about every match, but it never happened. Kind of pointless in Destiny now that full-auto is a perk for scout rifles....
-
Most are against the ps4 terms of services, and almost all are against individual games TOS, including destiny sooooooo yeah
-
I can just imagine it with a Jakobs weapon in Borderlands... Every half a second, needing to reload because it fires to fast to control it...
-
Edited by OMEGA-MONKEY1: 8/25/2015 3:54:44 AMInteresting question.. I'd agree with most that have already commented. Illegal no but most definitely frowned upon. However I'm wondering where do customised controllers like Scuf sit?? are they not also a modified controller therefore falling under the same jurisdiction and potentially a breach of the CoC? Or Terms of Service??
-
I would be fine with it, firing scout rifles for long periods of time is painful
-
You'll get sent to San Quentin if you get caught with one of those.
-
Yes. V illegal. Destroy it immediately. Criminals.
