Imagine not buying TTK and finding out that everything you paid for to date is obsolete and you can't level up, play weekly/daily night falls, collect old gear, upgrade old gear, compete against anyone who did upgrade, Your crucible has been reduced to 3 types and when you play them the LVL 40 are unbeatable when they supercharge. I'm missing things here, but the future is clear and the past is rendered irrelevant. The pay wall system being used is a taste of how this will progress and I'm out...
I care nothing about new content. I am just pissed they changed the currency and made everything I put HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS into, totally meaningless. WTH!!!
I'm done paying more and more for an unbalanced game that is basically having the gamer fix the bugs and pay for the privilege to do so. I've never seen a game punish customers that don't buy the expansion. I paid for Destiny but now I have had the original content I PAID FOR disabled, removed, and blocked. Unacceptable.... time for a new game.
To all those that have bought the
Destiny $60
Expansion 1 $20
Expansion 2 $20
TTK $40
Total $140 (seriously? for one game? for the same game?)
To all of you moving forward without thinking...enjoy
Expansion 3......$xx?
Expansion 4......$xx?
Expansion 5......$xx?
Destiny 3......$xx?

Thanks this kind of post is needed. I made the conscious mistake of buying the Taken King just to confirm what I suspected so it was not a real waste of money for me. 1. What I learned was that you only rent the game until the next DLC and you never own it. 2. Year one was a paid beta. 3. Their writing skill are on par with a 3rd grader. 4. Their PvE level design is repetitive as hell that they make the maps seam limited. 5. PvP is entertaining for like an hour then you realize that there are too many one shot kill weapons, idiots with shotguns and tea-baging (why???, it is only a game and you don't know me). This just makes it disgusting. 6. PvP maps repeat too much. 7. The same Strikes repeat too much. 8. Loading screens are just obnoxiously long. 9. Any progress you make now will be invalidated with the next DLC so there is no sense of growth. 10. Most of all it is misrepresented as to what Destiny is and for me Destiny is a pre-paid very bad MMO that screws everyone who does not buy the latest DLC. I loved the idea of what Destiny promised but failed to deliver but overall I did regret buying the taken king. Just to give you an idea on how disappointed I am in Bungie: Even if they make the best game critically and player acclaimed game, I will not buy anything Bungie makes from this point forward that is not just a treat out of anger but an informed decision. I wonder if that is what they wanted, to lose all credibility. Bungie==DO NOT BUY

World of Warcraft $60 Monthly Subscription 15$ Played for 10 Years...$1800 Burning Legion Expansion $40 Wrath of the Lich King $40 Cataclysm $40 Mist of Pandaria $40 Roughly $2,020 For one game... Now I enjoyed those 10 years... I hope to enjoy as many years of this game as possible... Im a gamer, Ive spent more on less. Not saying y'all should or shouldn't play the game... Just do what entertains you. If this game loses my interest, then Ill go spend hundreds more on other games... till I end life functions ^_^ Game on

Capcom do this in street fighter so does mortal kombat you if to buy some of the fighters in order to play them all although I agree and I hate how they give away free dlc to new players and give them infuse light just takes the joy out of play their game and makes us day one people unhappy.

Agreed. For those of us on 360 who bought Destiny and the expansions, it's a rip off. I don't care who you are. We can't buy TTK in the 360 store. We have to re-buy Destiny at full price. They spit in our face by giving us codes to the other expansions WE ALREADY BOUGHT. Not only that, they removed content! It's a joke, really. Thankfully Gamestop accepted the old Destiny for $20, so it only cost us $40 extra for TTK. But, now they no longer offer it and my brother is refusing, rightfully, to buy TTK for a full $60. This really is ridiculous.

Enjoy not moving on. Pay to play seems like a fair deal. Ever been to an arcade?
-
140 bucks for 800 hours of fun. Sounds good to me.
-
You signed a contract, you agreed for a "license" to use their game, and they can suspend or confiscate that license if they wished. There's nothing we can do now about Activision.
-
So lets compare this to the only other title I play... Madden. 59.99 2014 59.99 2015 $119.98 For the same game just updated. Or every other yearly title out there. This is not a defend Bungie post... but it is a reality check that getting updates in titles cost money to make and costs money to play. Business. I think it a crappy deal that those that didn't buy it now have a broken copy, the downfall of a online 365 title. Maybe the reason others shy away is because of the headaches that are attached to it.
-
Bungie sold "Destiny" like a AAA shooter. It was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Now current players know that "Destiny" is really pay-to-play. Enjoy Year 2 while you can.
-
You forgot the fact that they make you re-acquire everything you had in year one at the slowest possible rate...seriously, F.you Bungie, eat shlt!
-
Bump. Boycott Bungie and Activision
-
Wow $20 Expansions $100ish+ Yearly sub $140ish ____ 260/for the 1st year for any new person hoping on.

You think this is bad? You should see what I paid for WoW over the years. Lol.

Edited by bryanhaas: 9/24/2015 7:46:06 PMLook at it like it is subscription based, then you are getting a deal. True they did lie and should have been upfront but now we should all know what this is so anyone who stays has no reason to whine about it. Dear OP, Please resume bitching in 3 2 1 GO!

Bump support

TTK is great. Money well spent.

Think of it like this, take Blizzard for example they make an expansion like Warlords of Draenor you are able to level up to level 100 and are stronger and have upgraded armor, etc. compared to Mists of Pandaria where you are only able to level up to 90 and have the outdated gear compared to the level 100 gear. Blizzard is expanding the same game with expansions that cost about $60 per expansion, with this expansion it was about $42 if you already had the game and downloaded it over xbox instead of going to gamestop or other separate game companies. So technically your argument is invalid because they are adding onto the Destiny world as Blizzard is adding onto the World of Warcraft world. So instead of bitching about it, why not just put down the controller, go outside and burn the Xbox or PS4 you have if you're gonna complain that any other company has done in the years with DLC.

"Destiny....become mediocre!" "Destiny, because 50 mil a year just isn't enough!"

Edited by Gunship: 9/24/2015 6:05:48 PMwe were all more powerfull BEFORE TTK and 2.0 - I bought TTK and it 100% sucks. Edit: It 99% sucks. Nathan Fillion is awesome.

Okay so we already know and agree that what Bungie did wasn't cool. Here's what I don't understand though: How come you people come on here saying how you liked the game and want to play it more, but are not willing to pay the asking price for the new content so you can just continue playing/enjoying the game? Wouldn't it be better to just buy the expansion and enjoy the game rather than to scream and cry about being left behind? You all poured hundreds of hours into Destiny 1.0, and apparently you enjoyed it because you want to play more, so why not just cough up the $40 to buy the expansion and sink another few hundred hours into enjoying the game? Once again, I totally get that you guys are upset because you feel that something you paid for has been taken away from you, but how come it's okay when Bungie makes a bunch of new changes and additions that you get to experience without paying a dime? You didn't hear anybody complaining when they were able to buy new gear and level up even further when TDB and HoW released, now did they? So basically, it's okay for Bungie to give you stuff for free, but when they make changes that limit your ability to progress further without buying new content, or go through extra effort to make separate versions of game features that cater to those who don't buy in, then it's a huge problem.... That's what doesn't sit well with me. I do think it's wrong (and puzzling) that Bungie didn't just make legacy features for all yr 1 players, but at the same time I can see why they didn't, and this is the type of game that you buy into expecting such treatment since it's an MMO or "shared world shooter" or whatever the heck you wanna label it. Anyway, I hope those of you seeking a refund are able to get it, but IMHO I think you're all focusing on being "right" instead of being "happy". Even if Bungie let vanilla players have access to everything they had from beginning, I damn near guarantee most of you still would not be happy.

So I've paid $60 for destiny $35 for expansion 1 and 2 and then $80 for the collectors edition coming out to a whopping $175. Do I feel like I have been ripped off? Not in the slightest, I have 549 hours on record so in my eyes I paid a damn good price especially since $80 of my content was purchased 1 week ago. I can think of many games I've purchased for $60 that never had dlc, but not very many of them were able to soak up over 500 hours in just under a year (I purchased destiny about 5 weeks after launch). And TTK is even better than the base game was in my honest opinion, there is way more secret content through the calcified fragments and we even found a secret exotic yesterday. After running my numbers there is no way I can feel ripped off by destiny and I feel that most people would agree with me.

I only paid £50 for the lot....bargain lol

worth every penny for the amount of hours i get. We all value things differently. Destiny is a bargain to me. easily one of the cheapest games i've played when comparing dollars to hours. Again we view it differently. And despite what people think, you don't have to post here to announce your done with the game. Just stop playing. Your welcome
