I was just cruising around the moon when I started hearing this weird low-pitch sound. I was at the area between Archer's line and Anchor of light, where there's literally no enemies. I heard that the low sound was an indicator of a piece of sleeper simulant being near, and that pocket infinity had something to do with it, so I took it out and basically started shooting at random places to see what happened. I hit a point on top of one of the rocks almost in the out of bounds area and pointed it straight at the broken satellite in the sky. Then something weird happened. Pocket infinity usually fires in rapid succession in its full auto mode, but this time it fired in slow, 1 second intervals. Then, after a certain point of me moving it around some more, it shot really slowly, then stopped at one anno left in the mag and didn't shoot again. It just stayed in place, looking ready to fire, but not doing anything. This is the exact way a radar works if you replace it from speeding up as you got close to treasure, to slowing down. I don't have one of the relics on me, so that was as far as I got, but please! Someone confirm this so I know its not a coincidence!
Edit: I'm uploading a video for proof. I'll have the link up shortly. You can even hear the low-pitched music if you have headphones on.
Edit 2: Here's the link- https://youtu.be/mPoGiODuTF8
Edit 3: So a lot of people are saying that the PI has a glitch where it shoots slowly if you shoot it at the sky in general. I tried it out, and turns out it did the same thing there as well. I don't know if that means anything, but I appreciate all the comments and advice you guys are giving.

Edited by mfx-one: 10/6/2015 10:57:31 AMActually if you listen to the latest installment of Crucible Radio, Jon from Bungie supposedly gives a hint at the very end about how to obtain SS. I have no idea if he was serious or not and they mess with the audio, but he mentions being somewhere at a certain time and pre charging your fusion rifle. I'm pretty sure it was meant in jest but it was quite a coincidence considering I had just read this post. I don't know why they would bother altering the audio if it was entirely fictitious but it's hard to say. Maybe the guys from Crucible Radio can provide some insight. It's also possible that he read this post and was just poking fun as well.

10/10 for at least making an effort to share it with us.
-
nope. just did it on all planets and it's the same thing for all. it's just when u fire the pocket into the air it fire's slow and when aimed back down it fires rapid again..

Ugh....this is so cringeworthy

I have a bit of faith in this so posted it onto the main sub-reddit for sleeper search.

With everyone saying its a glitch need to reevaluate the video While gun does slow to a stall it's very different to what the glitch did The glitch- when charging only a single bolt will be fired after every charge up, even when the trigger is held down. This glitch continues until the gun is switched or persist until you go to orbit The video-not only is the gun slowing down when pointed in that specific direction but is speeds up to normal when pointed away, something a glitched PI never did on its own, the glitch has also supposedly been fixed to the point were it hasn't been reported in very long intervals of time, the gun also continues to fire bolts in a slower repetition instead of stopping entirely like the glitch. This added to the point that after data mining for the sleeper quest it is found that after turning in all Dvalen dark age fusion rifle relics you need a transponder to find a special signal to start the quest chain, it also makes noise. It could make sense that the pocket infinity a gun tied to Rasputin could act as the transponder we need, the OP has possibly given a great lead, it also helps that the direction in the sky he is pointing is the same direction of Mars, you can actually see the red planet from the moons skybox in game and it shares the same direction OP was aiming. Thank you OP for your contribution to the search, whether this is a dead end or something greater we may soon know.

Edited by RogueAgent: 10/5/2015 2:32:55 AMThe Sleeper Simulant is turning Desticles into paranoid Schizos For some reason all these BULLSHIITT Sleeper topics always get tons of l;ikes and end up at the top of the trending. SMH This fanbase is full of complete retards who believe anything anyone says
-
it has nothing to hit so it doesn't fire rapidly
-
It fires slow when in the air cause there is nothing to hit so it takes a minute to register if it needs to refund the shot or not I think
-
The same glitch also happens to Mythoclast on occasions as well.
-
Pocket infinity was one of the few year 1 exotics that I didn't get. Now that it is staying year one, is the legacy engram the only way for me to get it? :(
-
Fusion rifles have projectile speed. The projectiles were in the air when you shot at the sky, so it didn't know if it should refund the shots or not.
