I've been waiting for the hype to die down, and the newness to wear off to see a reliable review of the worth of this DLC, so people who have gotten and played enough of this dlc, what do you think?
Are the light level changes a good thing? What are your opinions on how the new subclasses changed the game? Is the pve part of this dlc worth the cost? Anything else you want to mention?

Edited by WhoAteMyFunDip: 10/19/2015 5:58:26 PMIf you want to keep playing Destiny, it's an absolute must have. In my opinion, there is no reason whatsoever to play a game like Destiny if you're not going to grow with the game. Now, the good and the bad... THE GOOD: TTK does a lot right and fixes a number of issues with the game. You now have context for what you're doing and why you're doing it. Infusion allows you to customize your character way better than anything in year one. And, there's a lot to do, however... THE BAD: The lots to do feels shallow. A lot of TTK requires grinding and re-grinding and sitting around waiting. But TTK's biggest problem is that it's essentially a failure as an expansion. Let me explain that. An expansion is supposed to expand on a game, not replace it and that's exactly what TTK did to destiny: it replaced it. TTK, on its own, does NOT have enough content to sustain this game. Year one playable content needs year two difficulty tiers. I like TTK, I'm glad I bought TTK and recommend TTK to any Destiny fan, however, you'll be bored to death with it in a month.

If you plan on playing a lot then yes. If you only play every once in a while it's not worth it.
-
Depends on how much you play the game? You play with friends? Do you like the game? Why you debating on getting ttk and you on the forums?

The sheer amount of quests alone will keep you busy for a good amount of time. They fixed a lot of issues with the base game and improved and added a lot in TTK. It's not perfect. The grind is still there and, in a couple of quests, the grind is brutal. But, no matter what you are doing, you get a great feeling that you are grinding for something that is worth while. The exotic sword quest, for example, had a step which is probably the worst grind ever in the game. But the reward and power of the sword makes it worth the trouble.

I will tell you that I have 1200 hours in destiny. The truth is, I have never been so bored of it since TTK came out. Oh for sure it was great at first. But as you play, you realise exactly how much they stripped out and how little they gave back. I was an avid player of destiny. Now I can barely bring myself to turn it on!

If you expect it to revitalize the game for you then don't, it's just more of the same. The gear is arguably worse than Year 1, PVP is the same in terms of lag and imbalance, and honestly there isn't a lot to do. However, if you just want more grind then go for it.

It's only 40$

Hell no too much hype and boom two weeks shit is nerfed unbalanced locked content this game is for a bunch of crybitches and I played alot the grind is -blam!-ing unbelievable this game goin to shit.
-
Worth 40 bucks imo.

It's by far the best content made for Destiny so far. Based on that, I'd say a definite yes. However, if you were a hardcore year one player and the grind just grew too old, this expansion doesn't really reinvent how things work. You still roam around in many of the same areas, killing many of the same people. It's done a great job of making things feel new, and the quests give you more of a reason to play, but a lot of it is the same. So yes, TTK is great, but if you were burned out on Destiny before, this doesn't necessarily fix everything.

is it not becoming free at the start of next year. i read this on the forums. saying DLC will become free not sure if they ment DLC1+2 or if it inc TTK

If you like the first DLCs you will more than likely love this one. The story was much longer than I had thought it was going to be and it really seems like they are stepping in the right direction when it comes to PvE. The quests are an awesome addition and I fill like there is much more to do all around now. I would say it is definitely worth $40 if you enjoy the before Destiny.

Edited by Dezzie19: 10/19/2015 4:53:23 AMFor 2 -3 weeks it's fresh. I need to do the raid thats it ive seen everything else. Iron banner is defo worse than it was, the strikes are better but theres not enough of them, and the grind has been extended.

It is so worth it

There is a lot more to do and story line than I had first thought

Most of the destiny community has it or is considering it, i keep seeing lvl 40s every where. So its fair to say at some point your freinds will be raiding ttk soon ,just bite the bullet and do it.
