I don't care about looks because they both look badass. Which armour is better? Templar armour reduces all damage, while Mayan armour negates bullets.

I chose Templar because no hood on an outfit is an immediate turn-off for me. I tried both and I figured if I was in a fight big enough for there to be snipers, I could find a human shield to use before he fired.

I don't think I got either of them until I'd finished the game. In retrospect, I could see that one of them would've been really handy in a particular boss battle where the boss was a bugger to take down. But can't remember the details now

Depends on your playstyle, I guess. Notably it depends on how good you are at dodging bullets. Personally I never used either of them because I disliked how both of them looked. But I would assume that as long as you are capable of fighting off enemies and avoiding regular hits, the Mayan armor would be better for bullet protection.

[i] *puts on an antic disposition* [/i] Pretty much the only time I was touched in AC before Unity was with bullets. So Mayan. All other damage can be easily avoided or countered.
