3Ds Max Zoom Sensitivity

How in hell do I contol it? Sometimes I zoom in one tiny inch and it lands fifty lightyears away from my previous angle. I'd appreciate if someone could assist.

 •
Posted by: Iggyhopper Try focusing on the object. In maya it's F for the selected object. Dunno what it is for 3Ds. It should make zooming and the camera control easier.
Well I need to know. The space elevator's not going to just create itself.

 •
Posted by: TheWindClaw Are you trying to make your camera zoom in or are you physically moving it through the 3d space? I almost always recommend moving the camera itself rather than a zoom.
A bit of both, I'm just trying to figure out on how to control sensitivity. Knowing this shall make enviromental 3D modeling much easier. I plan on creating a space elevator along a massive, frost-covered terrain. A problem with this is that the camera zooms too far in and or moves too fast.
