What is the Vanguard Dare?
I know Cayde lost/failed it which was part of the reason he became the vanguard hunter but what is this dare?

1 ReplyCayde was good friends with Andal Brask, the previous Hunter Vanguard. Cayde made a bet with Andal, saying if Andal died at the battle that's now the Great Disaster Cayde would become Vanguard. Weirdly enough, Andal was killed by a Fallen Mercenary: Taniks the Scarred.

I bet the dare is different for each Hunter, based around their faults and weaknesses to guarantee the Hunter Vanguard position is filled

A dare that if you lose you end up as Vanguard. This is probably exclusive to Hunters, and also involves the previous Vanguard dying. As for the specifics of the dare we dont know them yet.

Some monumental task set by the current vanguard for each class; a task that is meant to be nearly impossible so that they they may train more to eventually take up the seat of their previous master. Or something like that

The hunter vanguard before cayde was a hunter named Andal Brask. He was killed by taniks and because cayde took the dare he had to become the next vanguard. Idk much more
