So one of the Iron Lord grimoire cards talks about how Timur was a Stormcaller. I was under the impression that Iron Lords were not Guardians, because they existed pre-Collapse and didn't have Ghosts. So how could Timur have been able to use Stormtrance? Did Warlocks, Hunters and Titans exist before the Collapse; did the Traveller's arrival allow for people to start using some powers of the light? I guess in a bit confused about who can use what powers and the defining qualities of Guardians vs. Iron Lords.

Edited by A Rising Wind: 9/27/2016 5:43:13 PMIron Lords are post collapse. They did not exist during the golden age, no guardian did. The Iron Lords are among the first Risen after the collapse, light bearers brought back by a ghost. They didn't call them guardians, but that is what they are. You can see Saladins ghost in some of the cut scenes. The early Risen used their new powers to rule as warlords, which is what Felwinter was initially. But some of the Risen decided to band together to help rebuild humanity rather than rule it, and thus the Iron lords were created. Guardians with a similar ideology, protecting humanity. The Felwinter card is a good one. Shows Felwinter shortly after he ceased being a warlord and joining the Iron Lords as he tries to recruit another warlord named Citan into their cause. Citan says no, and well, Felwinter kills him http://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/lord-felwinter?highlight=Felwinter

I'm pretty sure they're like the OG guardians, before the traveller was damaged they were imbued with the travellers light (i think there's a rasputin grimoire card about how they're empowered) a stormcallers powers are accessible to those warlocks inclined to search for it

They were the original guardians. Siva was the first major threat that lead to the collapse, and all but Saladin died to stop it. Then the fallen happened, and the Hive, Vex, etc..... Then guardians were made to protect what was left of the Earth and Traveler.

Iron Lords do have ghosts (you see Saladin's ghost in the cutscenes) and are brought back from the dead by what Saladin calls the travellers gift. So yes, they are like us, and all of this happened post-collapse during the Dark Ages, they are in essence a precursor to what we now call Guardians, the term Guardian didn't come about until the formation of the Vanguard.
