I have a half a mind to think that the puzzle it self once organized is just a jumping sequence you have to do on the cylinders below the diamond room since all those little cylinders are numbered off in rows. This would mean organizing those images would give of us a road map to which a fire team is supposed to follow to gain access inside the diamond.
