This is exactly my point.
Shadowshot and Ward of Dawn give support from the get go without selecting any other modifiers from the skill tree or wearing exotic armor.
Whoever designed Sunsingers wasn't thinking reasonably.

I'm pretty sure they weren't intended to be a support class originally, at least not in the sense of Ward of Dawn.

I think it was poorly designed from the beginning, It seems, they wanted the subclass to be the healer/DOT class but never got anywhere. Remember Bungie had to rework most of Destiny one year prior to release.
