They took your baby and slit it's throat. You trusted them with it, and they sat on it's head and smothered it to death.
Today is the 15th Anniversary of the release of Halo: Combat Evolved. 343i decided to "celebrate" with the release of a "Classic" playlist... problem is, this playlist has all the new Spartan Abilities introduced in Halo 5, which most of the Halo community hates. It has Forge remakes of some classic Halo: CE maps and the Halo 1 Pistol as a starting weapon, but the Spartan Abilities ruin the experience and make it feel far from a Classic playlist.
People have been asking for over a year- since Halo 5 launched- for a classic playlist with no Spartan Abilities, and this is how they responded... with a giant middle finger.
This is just the latest in a series of epic fails from 343 Industries that began with Halo 4. They've ignored much of the fan's criticism and made one unnecessary change after another, dragging Halo's name through the mud.
When you good folks at Bungie left Halo in the care of 343 Industries, you said Halo would be in good hands. You were wrong.
Bungie, your pride and joy is dead, and 343 is the one who killed it.

Edited by What I Look Like: 11/20/2016 7:18:17 AMYou children have been bitching about "ruined Halo" since every title after 3. How you all manage to be pathetic, redundant, AND boring simultaneously is beyond me. Here's an idea! Load up Halo forge in any title you deem worthy and build a bridge. Then get over it.
cut yourself on that edge, bb
Why don't people realize that 343 is made up of former bungie employees and halo enthusiasts
-
Don't act like the abortion of a fanfic their writing as the story isn't the worst part about 343i.
-
343i showed they had potential with Halo 4 (which, while not quite "Halo", was still a very polished and well made game, not to mention having easily one of the best Campaign in Halo). Their handling of the lore was absolutely perfect until Escalation got under way. And then, Halo 5 came out. Solid gameplay, fun Campaign, shit story, shit playerbase. Halo 5 does have the best sandbox of any Halo Game, but the focus on competitive play ruined it for anyone that wants to play something without P2W (it took me too long to realize how P2W Warzone was). But Halo 6 has potential. If they take Halo 4's Customization, Reach's Unlock System, Halo 5's Sandbox, Movement Mechanics, and Campaign Level Design, and with a story the quality of Halo 4's, we could easily have the best Halo ever.

Bungie started the downfall of halo with reach, 343 just kept it going at a steady pace.

Bungie is dead.

Nope. Also Bungie didn't "leave it in care" to 343. they -blam!-ing dropped halo because they wanted to do something else. 343 was given the responsibility to make more halo games by microsoft. Also you claim that abilities ruin halo. Yet Bungie created halo reach. and from their own mouths reach was the halo "they've always wanted to make." Stop being a melodromatic child. If you don't like halo 5 don't play it. Plenty of people do enjoy it. You've got the MCC which works well (provided you're not in something like austraila.) and if THAT'S not good enough for you halo 3's and reache's MP servers are still up on the 360.

Top kek. Bungie isn't returning to Halo. End of.
-
How dramatic. Yes, I agree, 343 is a bad developer, but let it go.
-
I suppose everyone has their own opinions.
-
in the care
Actually, Bungie pushed Reach out the door and basically went "k thx, bye." 343 didn't come around until later.
-
Bungie already destroyed it back in 2010.
-
This new Bungievision is no different.

Edited by Roffle: 11/16/2016 11:55:40 AMThe thing is, 343i does listen to criticism, they're just not listening to everyone. People complained that Halo 4 was too casual friendly, so they reverted back to equal arena starts and added some abilities to add new movement methods to multiplayer. Of course not everyone enjoys it, I still hate the fact that they left sprint in, but the pro players wanted competitive Halo back and that's what they got. Forge players wanted a new and amazing forge, and 343i exceeded our expectations with Halo5 forge. What annoys me about this is that they really only accept feedback from those two groups. The casual crowd have barely any places to relax. BTB still has BR starts despite people asking for AR/Magnum. Warzone solo players still get matched against 12 man farming companies. And don't get me started on the speedrunning community. And the campaign. Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy Halo 5, but it feels like it doesn't fit everything a Halo player wants. I just wish for a balance between the things that everyone enjoys, or at least cater to most of us. Microsoft has been milking this franchise since 2007, and if they're going to do it for another 30 years, they better handle it well.

Bungie doesn't care anymore, they have gone to shit now. Reasons why the Bungie of now sucks. 1. Nerfs everywhere 2. Lag 3. Not banning cheaters 4. Ignoring the community 5. Everese (at first i was cool with it, you could get the gear from the boxes, which were three at the time, now is just one) 6. Latest festival of the cost 7. Poor dlc 8. Vague promises 9. Still no PvE event 10. Waited 2 years for private matches 11. Still can separate PvP from PvE 12. Time gating weapons 13. Could not reach max lvl during TTK, until heroic raid mode a couple months later. 14. Bloom on hand cannons 15. Weapon un-balance 16. Brought prison of elders to year 2, but not VoG and CE which most players ask for. 17. Wait a whole year for SRL 18. No in-game lore And still many more complaints to come. At this point 343i is way better than Bungie.

Bungie doesn't give a damn about Halo anymore. Bungie of today is not the Bungie that made Halo.
-
I think you're 4 years late.
-
The "old" halo (1-3, including reach and odst) were good. Bungie did a good job on them and they were my first real FPS that I played all the time. I have many fond memories of many things, with my friends or playing alone.
*sniffs as tear rolls down cheek* "RIP halo. I'll always remember your awesomeness
Any way, so on to the "new" (and crappy) halos. This includes 4,5, spartan assault, and the halo 5 remakes. These ruined it for me. Reduces my favorite game (at the time) to nothing. 343 messed up the story, gameplay, the look of chief and some of halos most iconic guns. I absolutely HATE the new ones.
-
What are the new abilities?
-
I thought you were a cool dude. I really did. But after seeing this I'm really disappointed in you. I'm sorry to say this but
This belong in #Gaming
-
To me there is "Old Halo" and "New Halo." I don't give a shit what happens to New Halo, it's not Old Halo. The old series' time is long over and I remember it fondly, anything after that does not associate with it(at least to me it doesn't.)
-
First, Halo is Microsoft's and not Bungie's. Second, you play Destiny and you know that Bungie is killing Destiny themselves with microtransactions, poorly dlc, no dedicated servers, and ignoring the community. Third, 343i is way better than bungie at this point, stop whining like a little girl.
Also wrong sub-forum
