No, but this latest patch didn't help.
Tbh i think bungie killed trials when they took the current non-adept primaries out of the gold bounties. That forced out lots of people that only played for that reason, thus making it harder for everyone else to go flawless.
Lets take the best pve primary in the game, and make it a trials drop! One that you can only get at 7 wins or flawless. That should increase the player base. Bungie logic...

I'm gonna have to disagree on best pve primary lol.
-
Its all about preference i guess Seems to be the popular opinion though.
-
Don't get me wrong, it's a good gun. Actually from time to time I use it on long range crucible maps. But for pve, either my hung jury or my wounded with outlaw firefly are my go to scouts. But as you said, it's all personal preference.
-
Best pve primary? Which would that be? Burning Eye?
-
From what i hear

Edited by GhostRydr: 2/17/2017 5:43:00 PMIt is a good scout, both for pve and pvp. But best overall pve primary? I dunno. Let's put it this way, if it were a horse race, both it and the original vendor Hung Jury would be neck and neck. Edit: And no, I'm not forgetting Fatebringer. But since it's been criminally stuck to Y1 values, it just can't compete in that particular race.

Sucks to suck. Get better then. If you would want that weapon you have to earn it. It should be difficult to get a really good pve weapon.
-
Your kd is .05 higher than mine. Also, i know im awful at trials, you're not telling me anything new. I was merely pointing out that it is redundant to make the best PVE weapon in the game, a PVP drop.
-
I see your point about it being a pvp drop if it's that good of a gun the quest should be as difficult as the exotic swords. But yet it's still a higher end drop and the people who have great skill in pve and pvp should get the the gun.
and KD doesn't mean anything until you play with that player
Edited by mpuchar: 2/17/2017 5:12:07 PM
people who have great skill in pve and pvp should get the the gun.
You should know that it doesn't quite work like that. I have over 400 raid completions, there are people in my clan with over 1k, and are absolute pve gods, but can't go one game positive in the crucible. There are also people with 2400+ elo and over 100 flawless clears that can't stay alive for more than 10 minutes during the raid.
-
Like I said. You have to be equally skilled in the crucible and pve to earn that gun. It's pretty decent in both actually.
-
Edited by mpuchar: 2/17/2017 5:45:06 PMYou only have to be skilled in trials to get that gun. It is a trials drop. 7 wins or flawless. Thats the only way you can get it. I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but you keep saying that you have to be equally skilled in both to get it. Thats not the case. Unless i'm missing something here
-
Let me rephrase that. If you want the scout rifle for pve then most likely you are higher skilled player for pve wanting to make your life easier you have to be skilled enough in pvp to get the gun. The gun is not a mandatory thing you have to get. All it does is one shot shanks on a raid.
-
Yeah i get what you're saying now. Lots of guns one-shot the shanks, such as keystone or hoj with exp rounds, any hand cannon with explosive rounds and spray n play is also viable. What makes the burning eye so unique is that the ballistics and stability pretty much give it its own arch-type

This.
