Many people like to say that Christians are bigots. This couldn't be farther from the truth. While there have been many bad people that say they are Christians, say Hitler, they all do something completely against the Bible, such as gassing Jews. Also, fun fact, Jesus and his apostles were all Jews. The lord God himself proclaimed Jews to be his chosen people. I don't think anyone who tries to exterminate Jews is very Christian.
So, back to the main point, Christians may be the most tolerant of all religions. “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
1 John 4:11 NIV

This verse tells us that we should love everyone, regardless of their ideals or beliefs. So, to put it into modern terms, it tells us to be tolerant.

Edited by Silent: 3/30/2017 4:05:54 AMTolerant? What about the gays? I had a friend I'd known for awhile. He was pretty religous (Christian, I do believe) and he fell into a depression. Why, you ask? His family. As Christians, they believed that being gay was sinful. He was so afraid that if they found out, they'd cast him away and disown him. Where is the tolerance there? A kid can't even be honest to his family because he's afraid of what the religion has made them believe. He was dedicated to his religion though. Despite knowing that not only did his own family think what he did was wrong, but even his own god didn't accept who he was, he still prayed and whatnot. Please explain. EDIT: Yeah, forgot a major part. He told me how he wished he wasn't gay. He knew it wasn't a choice, yet he's still a "sinner."
