Having played the entirety of the first day with my friends, I can undoubtedly say I like how Destiny 2 plays. The TTK can feel obscenely long or ludicriously fast, but basic communication with teammates can solve that. The maps are cool. Midtown is fantastic for Countdown! On the other hand, Endless Vale feels really, REALLY simplistic. Some may like that, I personally hate it. The Strike is really fun, and reminds me of Destiny 1's best strikes, even if it's slower in almost every aspect. This is my experience with a Fireteam of my closest Destiny friends.
Alone on the other hand...
Trying to play alone is a damn nightmare. My PvP matches are swarming with clans and 4 stacks. Due to communication being better for a Full Fireteam, I find myself team shot to death almost 100% of the time. There are very few 1v1 situations, as when someone starts taking damage, they turn tail or inform their teammates someone is after them. It also doesn't help that SBMM seems to be cranked up to 11 in Quickplay (keyword: seems).
The Strike...people I've matched with are just plain stupid or have never played an FPS in their life.
Standing under the Boss's foot will kill you, but people I match with don't understand that
Since this is indicative of the full experience, idk how much I'll concurrently play.
Edit: Changed wording to emphasize that these are my experiences with the D2 Beta. Your experiences are different than mine. Take that into account when you comment instead of just spewing hate my way ☺.

I solo and the only problem I run into is when I try to D1 rush by myself thinking one mag and grenade will wipe the enemy team. D2 focuses on team play for sure to get the advantage, but 1v1 is still a thing along with 1v2 scenarios. Playing solo is fine, but don't get mad that you can't slaughter the enemy team when it's a 1v4 scenario. Obviously this is all my opinion so feel free to counter.
