Crucible is Legit Hell for Solo Players..
Crucible almost forces you to queue up as a team and if you do not, you will most likely go against a 4 man clan, while your team is most likely a team of solo players and beating a GOOD 4 man team with ok communication, is almost impossible. They will mostly likely stay together, which forces the solo players into a 4v1 and 4v2 situations which are almost unwinnable. What makes it worse thats there is no game mode on crucible, that is 6v6 like destiny 1. Adding 6v6 will be really helpful for solo players because, you will not have to deal with a whole clan vs solo players 90% of the time, most of the time your go against groups of twos or groups of threes and your team will most likely not be a team full of solo players as well. Crucible is actually extremely fun if you play as a team, but if you play solo it can feel like hell.
Also why is there no option in these game to choose your game type, I miss being able to just play control and avoid the other game modes.

Yesterday, I went on a 5 win streak and then the next three games my team was down one player.

It's a -blam!-ing joke that a solo queue player goes in to competitive and gets matched against a 4 stack playing as a unit and team firing. What the -blam!- am I supposed to do? Any time I get into a fight its always a 2v1 3v1 or 4v1 with me already having low health from nade spam. The matchmaking is -blam!-ed. You can't do anything in this game without a team to play with. If you go solo queue you are at a huge disadvantage and you will loose because you always will get placed in games with people playing together. With the clan rewards and stuff its like the only thing Bungie care about is playing together. I can't be arsed playing a game where every single fight you get into is unfair. Congratulations Bungie, you -blam!-ed yourself.

1 ReplyI agree, i miss my aggressive playstyle. I have to hold hands with teammates to get anywhere. Teamshotting is the only way to go. Your weapon and personal skill are too easily deterred by team shot. It makes pvp boring imo. It forces you into one playstyle, and that is the playstyle of your own team. I don't mind coordination improvements, but TTK is way too high. Gun fights should not feel like a tag team wrestling match.

It should not take that long to kill someone. Bugs me even more when I'm laying into someone for them to run and make it just round a corner with a sliver of health, I do be fuming. Guns are so clunky and lethargic. Abilities may as well be tennis balls for grenades and pillows for melee, they do nothing. 3 bloody warlock palms to kill someone. Can't play aggressive unless you got another guardian in your pocket. The 4v4 is just horrid. 6v6 or 8v8 would set up more 1v1 battles. In D1 I played for 3yrs and loved both PvE and PvP and spent hundreds of Euros on the game. I really didn't care as I loved playing everything. This time around I feel a bit bummed. I truly loved be the PvE, some sweet changes, others not so much(shadergate), but in a while I'm absolutely loving the new PvE. PvP on the other hand is horrible, compared to D1 I just can't enjoy it. Find myself getting annoyed after 1-2 games. To this day, best Destiny has ever been was when Thorn, Hawkmoon, MIDA, Last Word, Messenger, Hopskotch, and Red Death were all godly at the same time, that was the most fun in crucible, bar none.

Agreed. Being a solo player going up again a fireteam/clan of 4 is like a real life fight where 4 people gang up and kick the crap out of one person... no skill whatsoever unless you are a black belt in martial arts and can take out 4 guys by yourself with ease. And schedules don't always align where friends and fireteam can meet up at the same time before the "make friends and join a clan" comment come rolling in. They really need match making to recognize solo players and put them up against other solo players.

I do fine solo, but then again I'm always keeping an eye on my random's map rotations. A skill lost in the classic halo days.

1 ReplyI've played about 25 matches (quickplay only), all solo. My W/L is around 65%, with most of my losses coming from playing against a 3 or 4-man fireteam. It's EXTREMELY frustrating when you're put into a game of 4 solo players vs a fireteam. Those matches are almost always one sided. Honestly when I check the roster and see I'm playing a fireteam, I just want to quit the match and search again. Even good players can get crapped on when it's solo team vs fireteam. No matter how good your gunskill or decision making is, you can't make decisions for the other players on your team. Another big factor that seems to affect the outcome in situations like these is that it seems as though solo players tend to be the more casual player, whereas people who are in fireteams tend to actually play more of the game, and are therefore more skilled. There need to be stricter matchmaking settings that match solo players with solo players and teams with teams. Other than that, matchmaking seems great in quickplay. For the love of God, please don't EVER put SBMM back in quickplay. Don't "increase the influence of skill", don't "ramp it up". Leave SBMM in Comp playlists where it belongs. FOREVER. Ok...rant over.

I mean if you care about winning. I've gone solo and played with just my brother, I have yet to change the way I play. Example, look/run around and find a high flow area. Rack up points. On the other hand, the team shooting is frustrating. I'll most likely run the raid 1 time, trials of mida was garbage because I faced flawless teams 8-10 times. Pve is fun to me, pvp seems to be more focused on everyone riding one another's coat tails. D1 got better when the dlc's dropped, and frankly that's how this game will be. Enough to hold on to the attention of 30%(not a fact) and drop a dlc to bring everyone back for a month. Rinse and repeat.

Yep. Totally agree. Crucible is the one and only disappointment I have with D2. The forced new style and lack of options is frustrating.

1 ReplyThe whole theme of this game seems to be attempting to make playing with other people more desirable. Clan rewards, guided games, smaller fireteams for crucible.. I mean, I get it but I just don't care. No amount of dangling carrots will force me into a group when I just want to tune out and play solo.

Indeed quick play should have a solo match make, no reason to force solos against teams. You want to team up? That's great, fight other teams!

3 RepliesMy only issue is being slayed by much smaller players lol putting a clip into them, then melee only to be killed by a single melee from the guy i just smashed on...that gets frustrating. Don't get how a guy shooting a 248 weapon kills me after loading him with headshots from a 282....am i missing something?

1 ReplyI am a solo player I never have any problems I am always top of my leaderboard, out of every 10 matches I will have a hard time but in these cases I just follow others and before you know it all of you are together.

I have to agree. It was bad in D1 but in my experience it's so much worse it D2. Literally every game is completely one sided. 9/10 it's 4 solo players vs a well organised team of 4. I'm not trash at crucible but I'm not that good either. My ELO is TERRIBLE because I lose 9/10 games due to the imbalance.

1 ReplyCrucible is broken. It m9ved so far away from Destiny 1 that it feels like I'm playing a different franchise. They want to make it an eSport so bad that they screwed the great system they had. Supers are a joke now, takes forever to get and ypu shut it down by 2 people shooting at it. You can team shoot anything. If you are a solo player you are screwed because nobody uses game chat. And I average over 1.5KD and I just finished a match with 3.67KD. I'm not salty I just don't like what they did to Crucible. It changed too much. Bungie, please make Supers and abilities CD quicker and make Super endure more damage if you are making them so hard to get. You get it, use it get a kill and people shoot ypu from the back since radar fades and get destroyed to probably never get it again. Fix Crucible, but no sarcasm, I love you made shotguns and snipers Power Weapons. Now it's balanced more... ✌

Absolutely. Why the overhaul for crucible? It was pretty dang good in D1...why switch to a whole other formula? No sense.

1 ReplyCrucible is absolute trash in this game imo. I just got into a game with a 4 man group vs 4 solo players and we lost (solo players). The score was 29-100, they made crucible absolutely trash. Back in Destiny 1 you actually had a chance smh..

Not my experience at all. I've played about 40 matches in quickplay and have been doing fine. Better than D1, where I was terrible. Good headshot primary aim, and good positioning and smart radar skills are what matter now. No more spam shotgun fusion grenade hardscoping snipers. It's 10000 times better!!!
