(PC) Video evidence of performance issues as well as a large write up of the issues

CPU: i7-4790k OC'd to 4.6Ghz GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 TI gaming Elite Ram: 16gb @ 2400Mhz OS: Windows 10 version 1709 build 16299.19 Current GPU driver: 388.10 Monitor: 1920x1080 @ 144hz with gsync And the game is installed on an SSD Dxdiag: https://www.mediafire.com/file/fvgm1dts231m51y/DxDiag.txt Issue Information Destination/Activity: Any destination and activity. Description: Since launch I have had an issue with a stuttering effect, it is most noticeable when standing still and moving the mouse horizontally and aiming down a scope. Even though it is most noticeable doing that It is always present when playing. There is also an Issue with areas having low FPS and bouts of random FPS drop. None of the patches released have done anything to correct these issues and in fact have made these issues worse by making this stuttering effect start basically as soon as I start playing, after playing for about 30 minutes it reaches a point where the stuttering has gotten to the point where it is beyond unplayable and gets worse and worse till gameplay looks like its running at 20 FPS even though the counter will read above 60 FPS. I have tried to troubleshoot things on my end with dozens of different things and none of them have had even a slight effect on the games issues. I will list all the things I have tried that I can remember. 1: Tried Windows version 1607, 1703 and 1709 none of them made any difference. 2: Tried Nvidia drivers 385.28, 385.41, 385.69, 387.92, 388.00, 388.10 and 388.13. All drivers where uninstalled with DDU in safe mode and the drivers installed were done with a clean install. None of them made any difference 3: Tried a few settings inside the Nvidia control panel like disabling Gsync and re enabling it, setting my power management mode to prefer maximum performance, turning off Vsync, Turning it on and trying fastsync. Setting my maximum pre rendered frames to 1, turning on threaded optimization, turning triple buffering on and off. None of these settings made any difference to the issue. 4: Tried a clean boot of windows with nothing but the Battle.net launcher and Destiny 2 open. Nothing changed. 5: Tried 2 different monitors and a different set of mouse and keyboard, no change. 6: Disabled the OC to my CPU and ran my GPU at reference card speeds. No change still. 7: This was recommended by Bungie themselves, deleting my cvars file in appdate. Didn't do nuffin. 8: Running Destiny 2 in true Fullscreen mode, didn't do anything. 9: Tried the game with shadowplay on and off, no difference. There are even more things I have tried but there have been so much I am starting to forget some. I have record some gameplay with shadowplays instant replay feature at 60 FPS that showcase the issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtgoPU2oxUc&feature=youtu.be between 1:15 - 1:25 you can see the stuttering when moving my mouse left and right, 2:32 - 3:10 you can see it while I look around the stuttering and from 3:45 till the end of the video you can see it best when I'm looking around how badly its stuttering. You can see the FPS counter in the top right of the screen and you can clearly see that the gameplay even though running at high framerate and recorded at 60 FPS still looks nothing like 60 FPS gameplay. My settings are all maxed at 1920x1080, no vsync, motion blur disabled and 100% render resolution. This is beyond unacceptable and completely unprofessional going on 3 weeks after release and the extra month we had to wait since consoles got it. The game is unplayable and it's way beyond time that you guys accept responsibility and fix this.

Yep. I feel like a recording. We've been reporting this since Oct 24. Fix it or you lose players. Simple as that. No reason this tiny shoebox mmo wannabe with 4 people on the map should run this terrible. I'm done. I'm already getting bored of the content and horrible loot pool. But 3 weeks of playing with this stutter has killed it for me.

      • You can't compare these handful of posts to the HUGE mega-thread as a result of the bug that appeared a couple of weeks ago. Just put it in perspective. A handful of threads each with 4 or 5 replies is not comparable to a thread with hundreds and hundreds. They should absolutely fix your issues, but stop wording things to imply it's effecting a huge number of players.

I'm having this issue, on my 1080ti all random, low fps could start in 5mins or could start in 2hours of playing, I played heroic public event at the church with tons of stuff on screen with 5+ guardians solid 72fps, I came back for my second heroic event same spot and fps drops every sec , then stuttering started and I have to restart the game

      • Daily bump. At least a "we have actually read your report" by bungie would be better than nothing. At this point, i think like we're just talking to each other.

        • Same. Bungie is silent. Serious company would have done long ago an official statement to PC-players. The third week instead of the gameplay - picking in PC. I didn't expect this Bungie and Activision. This is the worst in technical terms game ever published in Blizzard Battle.net.

Hi, I have the exact same issue on GTX 1080 ti, the mouse movment becomes really jerky like if there is some kind of frame skipping despite FPS being High or a least constant. I use a Zowie FK2 with no driver @ 400 DPI @ 1000Hz, I have tried an another mouse which behave exactly the same after the same amount of playtime, it totally ruin the immersion for me. The Beta version of the game worked very well . Whatever Bungie decided to add (code) in the game at the last minute prior to launch is what is causing this issue. The only thing that has changed on my side since the Beta is the Windows 10 version that has been updated to the fall Creators update otherwise Nothing else. Personally, I'm not touching the game until Bungie releases a "proper" game patch instead of a "quick fix" to the game port, it's a game breaker! I will repost all the infos : BattleTag: KiKiLL#21420 Configuration Info CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti RAM: 32GB DDR3 @ 2400MHz GPU Driver Version: Nvidia 388.00 Operating System: Window 10 (version 1709-16299.19) DxDiag: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1fBINrKZiRa5Xq9geqMRb38SH4H0IxI1d Process list: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1SQaqG_pbUU-LFGmKRm0qIAdY8elb_sDl UPDATE : I tried to play again yesterday but this micro jerks / stutter issues really annoy me to the point that I will already move to other games, my hype for D2 on PC was high but felt down in 2 weeks. I am not going to buy any DLC and just forget about this game.....it last only 2 weeks Bungie! Thanks fully I had a reddeem code for D2 when I bought my Gtx 1080 ti....GREAT On the other hand, all my others games are running smooth, OW, BF1, BF4, CSGO, COD WWII... and SW BF2 early origin acces is smooth as hell so I really doubt it's my PC hardware fault. It's SAD because the Beta version of D2 worked very well but the final game is not, it's a Frame Per Second mess because it's just a console port not made to run at high FPS! Good luck for getting this fixed, because I have been reporting this issue since launch and nothing...

Was working fine before hot"fix" 1061. That's from my pre-1.0.6.2 reply to their request for info, the problem persisted after 1.0.6.2, with less frequency and now appearing after about 2+ hours of playing (before it was after like 30 mins), but still happens. Additional details would be that I've tried it on a win7 partition, with different sets of drivers (on both win10 and win7) and the problem persists. Graphics game settings at 1920x1080, medium preset with some tweaks here and there (textures maxed, blur disabled, vsync at 60, etc), full-screen windowed and full-screen made no difference also. Another thing I noticed is it used to run stable and constant at 58-60 fps, now it dips to around 55-56 under certain situations (hectic public events, highly populated tower/farm zone-ins, etc). The irony is my wife is running it on a phenom II x4 and gtx 660ti and it's running buttery smooth.

Update for me: I turned off fast sync in nvidia control panel (I usually have gsync on with fast sync on for when it exceeds monitor refresh rate) AND increased my resolution scaling to 150%. Something about that combo has made the stutter a little more tolerable. It's not as bad as I had shown in my original video of it ( https://youtu.be/x0glwI9pGGc ), but it is still there enough to make it borderline unplayable. Previously, it was completely unplayable. I would be curious if this helps improve it to some degree for others. Maybe increasing the resolution scale has made the fps more stable? I still get very acceptable framerates with it turned up like that surprisingly (1080Ti).

            • Anybody else noticed this when playing the Mission "1AU" The game is silky smooth and feels like beta and pre patch 1.0.6.1?? or is it just me? Only problem is bungo retardedly removed the replaying of campaign missions unless Ikora rey has it on offer so unless you have a new character or a friend on that mission its hard to test.

              • is this happening on all planets? I've noticed titans been the worst offender for performance and I've seen some pretty big fps tanks there. the stutter you're gettings no where as bad as what we had before 1.0.6.2 where we'd get like whole second of freeze and before that I'd get like double stutters and degraded gpu load over time. see if you notice the gpu load dropping from 99% down to around 60% and that'd be the possible culprit

                • The only "fix" I've found is to go borderless windowed. But you lose a lot of the feel of the game.

                  • You are extremely lucky that yours is so minor and tolerable. On a i7 3820 3.6ghz, 16gb ram, and a gtx 970, at 60fps, mine is about a hundred times worse screen stuttering than yours after I play for about 2-5 minutes. I would love to have your problem because it barely exists if at all.

                  • Me to having the same issues this is very frustrating especially when it worked fine for what was about a week and then there patch made it unplayable I was checking every day thinking they would just undo the patch But after what feels like forever Still no fix Game uses low CPU and gpu Being on max grafix or lowest really does not change the max limit for me at all Edz if I look at the church I'm getting between 60 and 90 Before I was fast synced to 144 at all times I have a system with a 970 And was able to adjust settings to get a high frame rate And I have a 1080ti Neither can get the 144 like I was getting

                  • I've noticed the same as well as a huge fps drop when you are dragging the mouse cursor over different pieces of gear in a gear slot. I'll go from 145 to 40-50. Other than that, I get constant slow jutters as well as huge fps swings from 200-25 for no reason.

Good job on the video, looks exactly like my issue. I either didn't have it or didn't noticed at launch, but it is definitely there after patch 1.0.6.1 Bump and info : CPU: 7700K GPU: GTX 1080 Ram: 16gb DDR4 OS: Windows 10 version 1703 GPU driver: 388.13 Dxdiag : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1GPeQgtolqK-zjo7d5gO6RH82V3gvz028 PLEASE, REPLY IN THIS THREAD WITH YOUR INFO, WE NEED BUNGIE TO NOTICE. I personally wont buy the expansions (or anything from Bungie in the future) unless this issue is properly fixed. You can't just release a $60-$100 game at this state. It is also a shame, because the actual gameplay and controls are really good on PC. It is just impossible to enjoy a game that constantly stutters.

                    • I have this exact same issue now. When the game first came out it ran like a dream and now every patch screws something up. First I got the stutters then the patch to fix that caused those mouse movement jitters you are experiencing. I really hope they get this all sorted out.
