I have always wanted to know this. How many ghost were there after the traveler died? You know a lot have died during the events and stuff under the story. But didn’t most of them die during when the guardians were lightless?
I wish we could have a destiny prequel game before the stuff that we do now aren’t that interesting. Well the destiny 2 campaign was interesting but so much more could be done... (cough. Don’t give the light after 1 mission, cough)

1 ReplyThe closest we’ve ever gotten to a number is during lore on the great disaster “thousands of guardians went and Thousands died.” Or something along those lines so at one point the guardian forces had quite a number of them. As for how many there are by the start of the player characters story I’m not sure.

My guess is somewhere close to 8,000. including all NPC guardians

2 RepliesApparently never enough to fill a fireteam in guided games

3 RepliesHow many? Well I would say before the battle for the Moon, there maybe have been hundreds of thousands of guardians. After the Moon? Perhaps only 100,000 (rough estimate) I would say. Mind you a lot more came into existence after we arrived, but then the Red Legion came and basically gave us reconstructive ass surgery. So now? I would say there is only a few thousand guardians still manning the Walls.

Never counted any of 'em, haven't counted the ones I've meat, don't count the ones I see (and that is many), and don't count the ones I know because it's ever-changing, and I don't count those who are my friends as such, I won't count myself (because I will never be a guardian). All in all don't know how many there are, I don't think there's more than 10'000 that the vanguard keeps track of at any one time. I'm not going to start counting any time soon.

6 RepliesYeah that’s a good point to raise. The Guardians have had several major die offs over the years. 1 made it clear that new Guardians are become more and more infrequent so they can’t replenish their numbers. So when 2 says many Guardians died, why isn’t that addressed? All those Guardians out in the field? How did Osiris survive in the Forest without his Light? I’d really like to know that. We see dozens of them dead and when we retake the City there is only what, a dozen? Just another example of poor storytelling.

2 RepliesLet’s count. Me, you, zabala, cayde, iquora, Osiris. I know there are more but I can only think of theses for some reason. So far we have 6. Everyone make this list bigger

Ok, mines out there. Just one. It's hard to explain, but...your guardian has a ghost. That ghost gives a power, that we tell it to use. Thing is that ghost is controlled by millions, some see something different, and tell it to do different things...multiple personalities helping one guardian make it through a scenario. I know there are raids that take six, but what if one guardian could use any of the powers available. There is really nothing stating why our guardian is so much better than others, we killed things, completed things "impossible"...if there were six, then some emphasis would be placed when speaking to the vanguard leaders. Some is placed in fireteams, especially the aeon set...maybe 3.

3 RepliesWould have liked if the campaign wasn't in the patrol zones we use ,but in complete other areas that we can access in patrol ,to me they feel more fun to play in (like the almighty and the city for example) .Also I would've liked if we got our light when we finished the campaign and then while we explore the "new" patrol zones after the campaign we are learned our new supers ,and replaying missions would have different paths and options now that we had our powers (like another path with more interesting assets and enemy's that can only be reached with high jump, this would've been impossible beforehand as we had no jump powers) Also the city should be a patrol zone ,I love the farm so much and it feels alive because it's one area ,where the tower is split into 3 areas May have gone on too long of a tangent...

2 RepliesOGKegster22 is the one true Guardian.
-
Used to be a lot, now, not that many are left
-
Well new Guardians can be made. Our Ghost found us way after the Dark Ages when the first Guardians were being born. So either the Traveler has been replenishing the number of Ghosts. Our Ghost has been searching for the right Guardian for centuries. Or we were not our Ghost's first choice and there have been other Guardians before us who were not revivable for some reason.

3 RepliesLorewise, Guardians probably number within the thousands, possibly as many as the low tens of thousands - though doubtful. The grimoire called Guardians the rare few. Humanity itself may not number more than a few million, maybe reaching lower double-digit millions.
-
There are probably still millions. We were on ghauls ship and we lived
