And this is the is exactly what I am talking about by pandering to whiners. Number 2 on that list. How does that help anyone except a raid specific clan. You will be closing the door on a lot of new casual players who do not have the time to try to take a week to find decent enough people to actually play a raid with. There is no chat in this game so even the attempt at finding people makes you a bother to most. Players turning off your ability to message them to even ASK is a whole other level of annoying. And Heaven help you if you cannot use a Microphone, you may as well hang it up. I mean the raid goes NO-where if you, heaven forbid, make them read a 1 word sentence... "Do you understand what we just explained? 3 seconds later (RING!) You are sentenced to removal. "3 seconds is TOO LONG to wait for an answer..." I mean skill does not seem to matter, but unless you are able to talk about crap unrelated to what you are doing and have the ability to make it so NOBODY CAN HEAR THE PERSON WHO NEEDS TO CALL THINGS OUT, you have reached a dead end, fella.
Masterwork weapons fall with the rarity of spotting a supercar on the interstate already, to the tune of 1 maybe 2 every 500 tokens or the same amount every 1000 armor materials turned into banshee. Do you know how many hours it takes to get that amount? Topping this, 99% of the Masterwork weapons that fall, are USELESS or have have a redundant upgrade, or in most cases, both, fit only to be crushed for the cores. Out of I would say the 30 I have obtained since they were introduced, I have only gotten 1 that was fully usable without needing to modify it, and hilariously I just got it last night. Unless you all are going to Quadruple the amount of cores you get for crushing a masterwork, or drastically lower the cost to masterwork a weapon, not many people will have them and guess what, this will open the door AGAIN for people to say the upgrades and Masterworked weapons need to be nerfed in crucible. Adding extra things to grind for is great, however taking things away is no where near good for business. All of these people who say they will play again, really won't. They are going to find something else to latch onto as an excuse to SAY: "That is why I quit." The sooner you leave the game mechanics alone, and say "SHUT UP AND DEAL WITH IT!" The sooner people will do just that. Look at how they treated you all for letting people have fun with the Lens. Look at how they acted for the gift of using UNLIMITED SUPERS 100% of the time in an online game.... Ingrates who are STILL not going to bother spending any additional money at Eververse for anything regardless of how nice or cool it is. So I ask you, what is the point of these changes? Just a waste of manpower and money if you ask me. How about you skip an update and hand me a check for the amount you all would pay your techs to do it. I guarantee you I likely would not care less that Trump has in store for us a year from now... At least.....for a little while.

Not sure what your issue is with adding more things to grind for in game. Also, players that put the time in to get full masterworks DESERVE to have an advantage over casual players. They earned it by being good at/putting more time into the game. Why should casuals who might only play an hour a week get all the same stuff? And why should everything be balanced? Where is the fun in that? I'm a semi-casual player, I play for an average of about 1-3 hours a day (less lately), and I have never run a raid or done trials. I therefore don't think I am entitled to the new raid mods although they might give me an advantage, because I have not earned them, and that is FINE. I am quite happy with the grind for iron banner/faction rally loot, and lots of PvP. And masterworks. I really don't get what your so angry about. All of this weeks twab stuff is the BEST we've had in weeks and has been more well received than all the rest. You're opinion is as valid as everyone elses but when you deliver it in such a way as you did, where you state your opinion as if it's fact like your some kind of all knowing destiny god is infuriating. Be more constructive with your feedback or frankly gtfo this forum with your negativity. So tired of all this negativity. It's fine when it's actually an issue worth discussing but we get a bit of good news and people like you have to sh*t all over it. So boring.
-
You... do not read... You like to talk... but you do not read. I explained why things need to be balance. I stated my issue was not with adding but with them subtracting how you get Masterworks. Putting in work at constant Events and helping lower people should have the same good things as everything else. At the end of the day that item or mods you worked so hard to obtain will be nerfed anyway because it is the low people who are doing the complaining. There is no point.. Eqality in crucible means you are TRULY better than the other person. Which is why I do not Use Gift, Positive Outlook, or Mida. I like beating people down with lower weapons, that way nobody has any excuses and will not say a word because they do not want to endure the shame of what I creamed them with. Most of the people who want the change is upset they do not have a crutch weapon to fall back on like they did in D1. They are not fooling anyone, except maybe you.

Wow, man, what makes you think you can behave this way on the internet? Do you have any idea how rude, patronising and condescending you are being to your fellow players on this forum? Here's an example of what I mean: "Well look at that, you DO function on more than 2 brain-cells. Now don't you feel better explaining what you mean rather than just being a dill? You comprehension is a bit off but we will work on that." Why do you think this is an acceptable way to treat people on forums? I can only assume it's because you're a troubled angry coward who has to get his obnoxious toxicity out anonymously on forums for fear of doing it IRL. Anyway, back to the point in hand, my response to your comments is this: they have not subtracted ways to get masterworks. Once masterwork armor is implemented, there will be a way higher chance to get cores to use on your favourite pieces. Secondly, it's not the "lower" people who are complaining (by lower I assume you mean more casual)... It's the hardcore players. Most casuals don't even have all of the exotics yet, or haven't got all the forge weapons etc. They still have lots of stuff to play for. They aren't the ones with the problem.

Edited by Exileant: 1/27/2018 8:56:26 AMAgain... You do not read.... I live by 2 rules: Have no other Gods before me. And: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. If you had bothered to read the the persons post who I responded to, you would see he fully desurved all that I said and more. I have pride in myself and will not be typed to any kind of way without incident. As for you, I am rather tired of you not completely reading things. Most 5 year-olds know to start at the very begining of something before they form an opinion and then spout a response. While I will not go as far as saying maybe you should mind your business and address the responses that are geared toward you, (as this is a forum, all is rather public.) I will ask you to stop being lazy and read. Liking to read your own writting a little less may also help. I am sure you know at least one of those people in your neck of the woods. The ones that just loooove to hear themselves talk reguardless of what you say to them? They are annoying to no end. If you do not know one, that one might be you.

I don’t understand your argument against raid specific loot. Maybe I’m just missing something in your post? I’m not a raid fan myself but if there was some weapon or armor that I could only get by raiding then I would make it happen. As it stands right now the only thing I’m missing is the shotgun and that’s only because it wrecks in PVP. Feel free to reply because I would love to hear what’s behind your post. Thx :)

Edited by Exileant: 1/27/2018 1:08:31 AMThat was kind of why this post was so long, so you would not have to read between the lines or play guess the meaning. My argument was not about raid specific loot, in fact I said adding that is fine, they already have Raid specific loot. However forcing you to now raid in order to get Masterwork Weaponry is overboard, especially with them falling in such short supply already. (In short, taking AWAY is what I have the issue with.) Especially with it being so hard to find kind, patient, or even SOMEWHAT HUMAN people to play with... I hope that helped.
forcing you to now raid in order to get Masterwork Weaponry is overboard, especially with them falling in such short supply already.
Forcing? C'mon pal, really? I understand the frustration of obtaining masterwork weapons. That RNG is a cruel bitch. Hell, I once had the Manannan SR4 but I didn't understand it's value and ended up dismantling it. Was kicking myself ever since because I haven't find another... Until 1.5 weeks ago that is. AND I got freakishly lucky that it dropped as a masterwork with increased mag size. There are two highly critical pieces of information you should know: -1st is that the inclusion of masterwork armor WILL offset the SOME of the RNG of obtaining masterwork cores. And let's be real; if you're praying for a chance that a weapon of armor of preference will drop from an engram as a masterwork then you're setting yourself you for steaming disappointment. -2nd, it's painfully easy to get reward tokens & resources in order to gamble your chance to obtain masterworks. I'll expand on my 2nd point by providing you with an example. Currently, I'm sitting on 1261 vanguard tokens, 316 arcology tokens, 1278 EDZ tokens, 346 Io tokens, 213 mercury tokens and 125 Nessus tokens. And just in case anyone is curious, I also have 3261 gunsmith materials. This isn't even including resources mats, such as Dusklight shards, and I've got a nice handful of those also. If I were to use my vanguard tokens in one sitting, I'd be able to claim 63 packages from Zavala. That's 63 chances to get at least 1 masterwork. But if you remember, Zavala often hands out two pieces of gear (obviously a mix of armor and weapons) which help your chances of obtaining more masterwork weaponry. Use a fireteam medallion and you've just increased your odds of getting more masterworks. With masterwork armor entering the fray, you'll have an even greater opportunity to obtain even more masterwork gear come Jan 30th. I've had a drought of masterworks for a while and only until there was a time I actually needed a masterwork core did I actually start turning in tokens. Before my drought I was able to masterwork 3 weapons from cores I obtained from other guns. During that drought, I wanted 3 or 4 more weapons masterworked but I only had 7 cores. I was able to masterwork them AND reroll a few in the process. And it's because of my token rationing. I have a feeling people blow their tokens or resources quickly or instantly in an attempt to get whatever it is they're looking for but the best way to do that is creating ways to efficiently collect rewards or gear (I have public event farming down like a science). I break everything down to how much I can do for every hour I spend playing the game. Strikes per hour, public events per hour, XP per hour, etc. It's like playing the stock market; you invest in stock you like or want, hold on to whatever yields you receive and only sell when necessary. In my case, I'm sitting on a ton of stock right now and I feel zero pressure or frustration because I can liquidate my assets at anytime on demand.

I will say this. My heart goes out to you for not finding another SR4 until now. I could not live without mine on standby. I however was very blessed with them. I have gotten 4 more. 2 of which were the same night, however not a single one came Masterworked. I had to MAKE mine. And that is what took the time....I am a pack rat for armor and weapons. You never know what may happen and it is always good to be prepared. Nerfs and new weapons are the bane of rigid. It is best to be malleable.
-
I swear you just prooved my point. I mean even down to the amout of assets you need to get 1 masterwork weapon.... All that time and effort you spent getting your stuff is about to be for nothing. They are about to remove your ability to get Masterwork anything from vendors, engrams, or anywhere else but a raid. So yes, Mr. Zero Pressure... You will be forced to raid to get master cores.... Really.... So yes by all means, keep holding on to what you have spent weeks obtaining. Hahaha!
-
All that time and effort you spent getting your stuff is about to be for nothing. They are about to remove your ability to get Masterwork anything from vendors, engrams, or anywhere else but a raid.
This is absurdly incorrect. I've been paying attention to twab and forum posts. There's no clear indication or info of masterworks being restricted to raid only. As stated from devs, masterworks are obtained from world drops with raids and trials having a significantly increased chance for legendarys to be masterworks. And just to be certain I got my info straight, I re-read the recent twab details and the twab that introduced masterworks. To digress for a moment, you're speaking as if I'm TRYING to get mw weapons when, in reality, they've slowly been trickling in at an acceptable pace. And it's the simple fact that they were added to the game that's allowed me to get my desired weapons masterworked. All those tokens I have weren't from deliberate effort. I farm public events not for rewards but because I love crushing the heroic bosses and shooting stuff. And I don't dump tokens for the sake of getting engrams just because I can. Like I said, I created an efficient method of collecting redeemable items and loot that doesn't require additional effort. In other words, my shit is streamlined even though the game heavily assists in donating loot to users. Again, it's freaking easy for me too obtain masterworks on demand. Even if they did restrict mw to raid only acquisitions, it wouldn't bother me because: -I raid regularly. -I'm "financially fit". -I have all desired weapons masterworked. -MW weapons are more like quality of life additions rather than a game changing introduction. Cuts in downtime for supers is QOL, not a buff. I'm just playing the market and quite well I might add. So, yeah. Mr. Zero Pressure has their masterworks in order and for the future. What about YOU, mate? Unless you have irrefutable proof of your statement, you're just spitting some petty, scorned bullshit dude.
-
One, I am willing to bet your setups for all of you classes look like refried garbage. For you to actually sit there and say masterworked weapons are a comfort and not a game changer you obviously do not know what you are doing with them. But then again I cannot expect more from someone who keeps the junk weapons you get. We are very different players. I go for quality and that perfect role. Making a character that can dominate the scoreboard by 100 kills OVER the person under you in strikes is how the game is supposed to be played. The key to making mods work for you is knowledge of the weapon it is applied to. There are weapons out there that can if properly masterworked will allow you to see a whole other persona of functial Celestial destruction. Two, when have you ever know Destiny to actually not over-do what they said they were going to? Look at the Lens? It is litterally only good for killing red enemies. It cannot even properly handle orange enemies and does next to nothing to yellows. If Masters are trickling in at an acceptable pase you are either spending waaaaaaay too much time playing and there for one of those nasty unwashed gamers without a social life, you are veeeeery veeeeery blessed or what you consider as acceptable is far lower than mine. As for your raiding habits, you moron.... This is what I got on the other guys case for.... A lack of comprehension skill.... What did I say the 3rd sentence of my original post? If you are raiding regularly you would fall under which catagory? This is not even multiple choice so think it is ok to guess, perhaps use a lifeline. Hahaha! The rich did not care about the depression because they had everything they wanted, and the most important thing to not take feel it.... Money. So by that logic, IF YOU ARE A REGULAR RAIDER YOU WILL NOT UNDERSTAND HOW DIFFICULT IT IS TO FIND NON-HOLES WHO DO NOT QUIT BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY OR EMBARRASSED BECAUSE THEY ARE TERRIBLE under the guise of blaming everyone but themselves. Reeeeeeead and understaaaaaaaaaand. It really is not that hard.

I didn't bother to read the rest of your text. Mindless insults and bitching arent effective methods of forming an arrangement. You say I have "junk weapons" that I use when you only know about 1 that I ALLOWED you to know I have. You're welcome. But as far as your debate about masterworks, you're not only mistaken but you're also invalidated by your own "points" mired in insults. Why on earth should anyone value your statements if all you're going to do is get uptight and insults others over a simple discussion? Pointless attempting having a meaningful discussion with individuals like you so I'm ending this one. I'm glad your problems aren't mine. But for everyone else, I hope the info provided some insight for you.

Edited by Exileant: 1/28/2018 1:35:05 AMYou can read? I am sorry did not think that was a skill you possesed yet due to you failing to properly read the first post. Perhaps I am being too hard on you through... I will just pat your head and know you did your best. (Donkey Brays)

This exactly

Shut the fxck up, and raid for the gear like everyone else.
-
And you expect me to deal with idiots, like this guy here? Really? DMG..... REALLY!?!?! No enough brain to only fill a thimble, rude, and you wonder why people do NOT like to raid. Hahaha!

If you want raid loot, play the raid. Life should be that simple. You get out what you put in. Your method is ruining the game. I don't want casuals sidelined. And I want you to have local chat or a matchmaker that makes sense. But that doesn't mean that we should stick with this "everybody gets the trophy they didn't earn" method. The loot is fxcking terrible and it isn't rare. That needs to change. There needs to be really challenging activities that yield really rewarding loot for putting in the time and effort. If you want that loot, put in the time or effort. It's that simple. If not, then fear not. There are things (hopefully) coming like strike specific loot and strike scoring and stuff for people that don't want to do the raid. And I'm sure there will be other loot to chase. Other than that, go through the LFG grind. Like everybody else does. Find a team that can help you. Yes, you will run into assholes and idiots. Yes, you will waste time. Welcome to fxckin life dude. Lots of people found their permanent raid group or clan through these systems. There is hope. It's not as daunting as it seems. If that's not for you, it's not for you. Move on to something else. We don't need this shit show more casual. Destiny 1 and plenty of other games have found a way to make content for Casuals and Core gamers. The sooner they figure this out the better.

Edited by Exileant: 1/27/2018 8:49:40 AMWell look at that, you DO function on more than 2 brain-cells. Now don't you feel better explaining what you mean rather than just being a dill? Your comprehension is a bit off but we will work on that. Now then, as far as them adding things that is fine as I, my argument is about them making Masterwork weapons and cores something for raids only. They already have raid specific loot, and it should be average to so so, because guess what, even if you DO get a raid exotic that is stupendous, people will cry to have it nerfed BECAUSE it is so rare and hard to get. It would break Crucible to them so I ask you what is the point of putting in all that work for a gun that will be nerfed in a month and a half of 100 people getting it? I do not know about you but I DO thangs, I do not have time to waste on idiots acting a fool on games. I am no stranger to Grinding in Raids, I am a DC Universe player. Week 1 of the Siva Crisis raid I was in it for 16 hours straight to get my Exotic quest. (Got it too. Outbreak 2 days later.) Being lazy is not in my vocab. I have a problem with things not being worth the effort. Dealing with fools is never worth the effort. Fighting to obtain some rare super-gun that is killed in a week, because the weak cannot stand it, is not worth the effort.

You have problems beyond what they can fix with this game. You're the person that when we have some kind of fix headed in the right direction, you derail it with some kind of ultra specific complaint about your play experience. We're trying to get back to a place where weapons and armor were not only good, but rare too. That way, it means so much more when you get it. Maybe you have some point going with not making them too rare, I'll give you that. But Destiny's rarity problem right now is tilted in the "everything is too fxcking easy to get" end of the spectrum. So. I'll repeat again. If you want the rare shit, shut the fxck up, and do the activity to get it. We've already tried the casual way. It isn't working out too well.
