Edited by crazeeavery: 4/30/2018 7:04:07 PMYou using the disc version? Mine is nice a quiet but I got it digitally. You might need to clean of your ps4, dust can make it harder to cool and make the fan run harder to compensate.
-
Question, does the noise sound something like this?
-
Wish there were more options to make mine sound like an jet engine. more POWER push engines to 110%
-
F--k yes. The only thing I can think of is when I used to wrap a towel around a 360 to get around the red ring of death. That's what it sounds like.
-
Mine hasn’t been too bad, but it’s definitely a lot louder than my XBX is. Still no where near as loud as my base PS4 was. It would get so loud and hot that I was worried it was about to meltdown at any moment.

Edited by Unforgiven: 4/23/2018 11:28:23 PMThis has to do with heat dissipation. I recommend having PS4 Pro to be out and to clean the fans with compressed air. This is by the way typical of how PS4 pro performs and I wouldn't worry about it. A lot of people will say this is a defect, when the fans turn on higher rpm, the system is attempting to cool the components. This is completely normal. One of my friends returned 3 PS4 pros , well this guy is no longer a friend of mine, because I was brutally honest with him. I kept telling him that there is nothing wrong with his Pro. He also lives in a hot climate and keeps his pro without any space to dissipate the heat. And his PS4 Pro gets way too hot, in order to cool itself, the fans operate at a higher speed. All completely normal. I guarantee you this isn't the only game that does it, but my guess is your PS4 pro doesn't have enough space around it to circulate the air if this happens often. This hardly happens to me because I have my PS4 Pro outside my entertainment center, when I used to keep it inside it would happen a lot more often.

Had mine since launch. Not ran god of war yet, but the fans would rev a little during horizon zero dawn especially during battle. Not so much that I would think it was damaged though, just doing there job. My son's ps4 which was also bought on release, revs from the moment you load ANY game, it's old though so to be expected.

Really? My base PS4 is quiet when I’m playing GoW...
-
Possible game spoiler
Slightly off track here, but have you beat a Valkyrie yet? I probably need higher level gear. Need to explore more
How old is your PS4 pro? Did you get it on launch day like I did? If so then it may be because your Pro is a year old. A year’s worth of games enhanced for the Pro will put some strain on the console. Mine is loud too. However, a friend of mine just got his Pro about a month ago and his doesn’t make any noise while playing God of War. So that’s why I’m assuming it’s because your Pro might just be old. Not sure if I explained this properly. It’s 3am pacific where I’m at lol
-
Yes but other games do this as well. My xbox one x is really quiet, better tech I guess.
-
I never noticed because I’ve got the headphones, but I when I did I asked my wife if it did that every time and she said yep. So I don’t know that it’s the only game that makes it do that.
-
Glad to know it's not just me!
-
Use headphones, problem solved lol
-
Holy shit yeah. It's the first time my fan ever got that loud.
-
Yeah, my Xbox does it as well at times. I don’t think it’s anything to be concerned about
-
I've only had my Pro for a few months and it goes crazy at times.

Edited by e92BlMMER: 4/23/2018 12:50:23 PMI just got a used ps4 slim and is quiet as hell playing god of war... quiet with fortnite and no lag with fornite
-
No, but my Pro is only a few months old. The normal PS4 is whining like a vacuum when playing MHW, Bloodborn HZD ect but my Pro is quiet as a wisper when playing those games and Gow, in resolution mode mind you.
-
I’m is doing it, I had boost mode and supersampling on so I turned off boost mode and so far so good.
-
My regular ps4 sounds like that running the home screen.
-
It happens to me when I play fortnite

Edited by Cell-3: 4/23/2018 5:10:17 AMI got the 2014 model and it doesn’t need GoW to sound like a whale trying to jerk off while riding a -blam!-ing airplane with Godzilla roaring in the background.
-
I don't have a pro but my regular PS4 gets very loud playing any graphic intensive game.

Workin’ overtime to render that beard in 4K
