So....after knee capping the non raid/trials players for level progression you took the one possible event that held a slight silver lining and trashed it too.
Someone needs lessons on course correction without yanking the wheel 180 degrees with every adjustment.
smh.

bungie is against solo players. this much we know for sure.

They made good progress by the end of D1 to make the game more balanced for both solo and team players. In D2 they seemed to be pushing the clan and team up side more. Of course there are many good changes they had by the end of D1 that they left behind. I'm all for anything new moving in the direction of improvement at this point. I just hate to see changes that only have negative results like making it overly difficult to reach max level for only a subset of the players. I'll play the way I always have but if I feel like I'm being restricted too much I'll just stop playing way faster than I would have in D1. We'll find out in a few hours but I hope I'm wrong and it's not as bad as it appears.
-
They have made it crystal clear that 370 can be reached easily by doing non raid/trials activities so don't act like anyone got knee capped ok drama mama?
-
They actually said the EXACT opposite.
-
This. Pretty sure they said if you don’t do Raids and Trials you’re unlikely to reach the hard cap.
-
Edited by kindaSketch: 5/7/2018 11:32:08 AMNo they actually didnt. I've been watching all the Warmind updates. Milestones, strikes, pvp, public events and such will take you all the way to 370. Even 385 but it'll take longer. If you do all those activities plus rsids/trials you will get to 385 faster but you won't be able to just do raids and trials to reach the cap quickly. Prove me wrong.
-
strikes, pvp, public events and such will take you all the way to 370.
This is false, it'll take you to 340.
-
EVERYTHING is capped at 340, EVERYTHING other than call to arms, flashpoint, nightfall, raid, and trials.
-
Show me where I said the hard cap was 340..
-
Infact it was you, lol. Strikes, PvP, public events etc are all capped at 340. Even escalation protocol is 340 cap, just the 1 weekly armour piece from the level 7 400 boss will go over 340. All guns etc are max 340.
-
You know what hard cap means right? Soft cap is 340, do if you read what I said , everything is capped at 340 other than call to arms, flashpoint, nightfall raid trials + escalation boss 7. I replied to the guy who said strikes, PvP n public events will get you to 370.
-
What?
-
Watch the reveal stream back, the bungie guy said you WONT hit 380 before the next content drop in September if you don't raid/trials. They've removed several ways of levelling Inc raid/trial clan engram, exotic engrams, and the removal of the heroic strike milestone. They've also slowed reward power from milestones + end game to 2 power per reward after you hit 340. So there's far less rewards, far less power in said rewards, and you need to get 9 items to increase by 45+ power.
-
And the cap is 380...not 370. That's what I'm referring to.
-
Players who don't participate in any group weekly activities are unlikely to hit the hard cap before the next release From a weekly roll out. I never said it would be IMPOSSIBLE just that they are making it VERY near impossible unless you run the Raid and Trials. In D1 they had Iron Banner to aid in that climb for solo players, but even that was after A LOT of complaining.
-
They also stated that 370 would allow you to do any end game activity at sufficient dmg lvls. 380 is just a completionist number. It's not knee capping anyone or stopping anyone from running ANY activity. So if you don't raid or do trials why would you even care about a number that's more for show than it is for performance?
-
Escalation protocol is 400 power. Good luck trying that in 6 weeks when you eventually hit 370
-
It's not gonna take me 6 weeks but I'm pretty sure it's not all at 400. Maybe on the 7th wave when you are fighting the hardest enemies. And God -blam!-ing forbid that bungie actually makes one of these activities a challenge instead of a cake walk lol.
-
I mean it's taken you 5 months n you still don't have a 335 n your other 2 chars are 320. Not hating, just keeping it real. There's gonna be so many dissapointed players after this week. Imagine this, many will do this, you do the campaign and you're 340 (maybe) , you do call to arms, get 342 helm. Flashpoint 342 arms, nightfall get 342 shotgun. So you're 340 still n no milestones left, just protocol, n you can't even play it bcoz you're 40-60 light below. Wait till next week and repeat? Then your 342 (maybe) still 38 underpowered
-
Keeping it real? Lmfao ok kid let me straighten you out. If I put all my best gear on my characters there all at 332 to 334. Which doesn't make a -blam!-ing bit of difference at all. Power lvl doesn't mean shit at a certain point so you can forget that. Lol like honestly who tries calling ppl out over it? I'm done with you. I'm not having a back and forth with a troll so get muted. Bye bye
-
You can't btw, you're warlock isn't even level 21, lolol. Failed on sooooo many levels I was right in my original reply, idiot
-
It's not a challenge btw, for the vast majority it'll be impossible. Remember the people who asked for it to be made harder are the content creators who play stacked 24/7. For normal players it's gonna be brutal, you'll be in instances with guys who are 342 n completely clueless.
-
It starts at 380. N yes it'll take you around 5-6 weeks to get to 370, do the math. There's maybe 5 rewards per week over 340, unless you raid n trial, each reward gives no more than 2 power, and you have to increase 7 items by 30 (to hit 370), so you need 210 total power from rewards, to hit 370, and you're looking at making 10 per week, that's 21 weeks! That's why they said if you don't raid or trials you'll never hit cap. Now you'll gain a bit if you run 3 characters n move guns across, but not much. People really have no clue how grindy it's gonna be
-
So was this their solution to make the game “harder” and/or a means of increasing the population? This sounds like a very poor design. This is almost the same mind set as the timer on nightfalls. This is artificial difficulty instead of design difficulty and I can envision this frustrating a large number of the population. Raising an enemies level and HP while having the same AI and mechanics with little weekly progression in your own light/power level is a bad idea. Make events harder through design and/or modifier not by just over leveling a run of the mill thrall.
-
LOST SOLdout is actually correct here. The progression system past 340 is going to be extremely punitive for anyone who doesn't do weekly raids and raid lairs and trials on all 3 characters. Past 340, you're looking at a weekly power level increase of between 0 and 2, depending on rng luck (mainly avoiding duplicates from weekly luminous engrams). 3 might be theoretically possible depending on what clan engrams are worth, but the math doesn't support that. So even if you are outrageously lucky with rng and avoid the dreaded weekly duplicates, you're looking at 2 power levels a week. So if you can maintain that level of extreme luck, it'll take you 15 weeks to go from 340 to 370. That's the last week of August to get to 370. And that's with extreme luck for 15 straight weeks. This is an absolute knee capping. Zero question.
