Hey all,
Today we’ve discovered an issue with Quickplay Matchmaking. We are actively investigating the depth of the issue, and currently believe that neither connection nor skill are being factored correctly when forming matches. PvP Design Lead Derek Carroll has more information on our next steps:
With the release of Update 1.2.3, we introduced 6v6 Quickplay with a bug that causes skill-matching and potentially connection-matching to fail in that playlist. This results in much faster – but lower-quality – matches than normal. Our plan for the immediate future is to take no immediate action, monitor the health of the playlist, take notes, and ready a potential fix. We will inform the community with our findings and if we make a change, you will be the first to know (just like this time).
You wanna throw us solo peeps against clans? Fine, I guess😒 You wanna set it up to where EVERY. SINGLE. ENGAGEMENT, is exactly the same? Okey Dokey Smokey...(but seriously dudes...its ass end boring lol) But my biggest complaint overall... is that quickplay only has two modes, and yet I still manage to get 4 and 5 control matches in a row... at every turn you have avoided the obvious thing and I am finally losing my shit... LET CLASH STAND ALONE!!!....PERMANENTLY!!! I could forgive just about all the other bullshit with YOUR PvP (which everyone knows has been plenty) if you just finally did that one thing. I really do wanna love this beautiful dumpster fire...

Screw your crucible
-
There should be connection vased matchmaking with a tiny pinch of sbmm just to keep the really low tier skilled players from getting into a match with someone who has an average 3.0 kd.
-
This game can’t progress at all, can’t it? Whenever you put something new some other shit goes down. The crucible was the one thing that seemed ok but now it a wastegame. This wont make me buy the analpass further on.

We all know the issue is a complete and utter lie. How ironic is it that this problem arises just In time for this event. At least make one that’s believable.
-
Personally I dislike the current state of Quick Play (QP), though I am not sure if this is because of the 6v6 on such small maps, the lack of SBMM and CBMM or the fact that solo players are now matched against teams of 6. Since this topic has divided the community so much though it sounds like there could be tremendous interest in a third type of playlist. Why not duplicate QP in all manner (Valor ranking and so on) except leaving SBMM and CBMM off (call it Cutthroat or Quick Draw for a Forsaken theme or something like that) and then restore CBMM and SBMM to QP. This could allow the community to play in whichever mode they would like with little extra work.

Like many of your customers I just want to make an informed decision before purchasing Forsaken

I'll sum it up in 4 words:
Joining match in progress
It's -blam!-ing awful.

Is CBMM and SBMM also turned off for the Rumble and the Rotating Games (this week Supremacy and next week’s Mayhem) or are they as before?
-
Today is the first time I've gotten around to running some crucible and OMG 😲 Skill miss match i can deal with, being matched against much better players took me back to that noob feeling of when you first try out a shooter game on the lowest level with crappy weapons 😂 killed my kd(/a) 😂 but playing against better players just makes me more determined to "git gud" lol... The most frustrating thing is the sheer amount of LAG going on since this mess up!...and I don't mean lag just on opposing side, on both - its quite off putting 😣 few matches in a row i thought i was seeing double or having "deja vus" of "im sure this player just ran past me a second ago" 😒 I'm pretty average when it comes to PvP, most of the time being able to hold my own but this mess is right in the feels Bungo! 🤐

Known Issue: PvP Is Abysmal (in D2...other games do it much it better and don't let it negatively impact the entire game to such a huge degree)

petition for a negative counter. -1

Global levels......of lag. Gotta fill those lobbies though am I right or am I right?

Edited by bookhouse55: 8/3/2018 4:08:28 PMI would say I definitely feel the inconsistency implied by
"skill-matching and potentially connection-matching to fail"
. The handful of times I've played off and on this past week have had no middle ground. Yesterday, and 6-7 days ago, the matchmaking was good and the games were competitive. 3 days ago, every match was 5-6 stacks against solos. It is really the inconsistency that is bothersome. Getting one 5-stack out of every 10 matches would be expected. Getting a full fireteam game after game after game is tiring. I would say overall the following two matches had the best matchmaking of what I've played recently, and would hope to see the system lean toward whatever configuration played toward creating these lobbies: https://www.bungie.net/en/PGCR/1952052050?character=2305843009267298048 https://www.bungie.net/en/PGCR/1983077724?character=2305843009267298048

Gotta say its been really awesome playing crucible this week. So nice being able to make double and triple plays on my own again. Honestly stopped playing trials and crucible (except iron banner) completely because the slow pace team shooting culture. Idk if its the 6v6 or whatever happened to matchmaking but its been fun.

Creating content for Everworse is so much more gratifying. Maybe you forgot to employ some real programmers who know how to do networking? What about dedicated servers btw.?
-
I got on yesterday and it was actually a lot of fun, I won some lost some, but more importantly they were nail biters. My one complain is still team kill. In any case it was fun to see a lot of people with 30-40 kills per game.
-
All I ask is keep it as is except stop putting me against 3 or more fire team members, it’s impossible.
-
It’s the best crucible has ever been since D1 house of wolves days
-
Leavebit as it is I’m a 1.2 kd player so average some games I get owned them the next I’m doing the owning :) it’s more fun now. The team shooting isn’t as bad
-
Quickplay is more fun than ever. Thankyou for the accidental fix !
-
Edited by AJ: 8/2/2018 7:52:39 PMOh so that’s why it’s been pretty chill recently.
-
For the past 3 days, I have been unable to get into a match solo. It times out.
-
Of course those with no confidence in their skills are crying about this, they feel like their life in the crucible is over, yet they themselves don't realize they are the bigger part of the community as well. Which means theyll get stomped at times but not 24/7 as they feel they are. It just sucks now because whenever they lose they'll blame the lack of skill based matchmaking and fire Bungie for it when really just them lacking skill or just taking a normal loss like everyone else does. You can't just attribute every loss and use the lack of skill based matchmaking as an excuse, cmon people.
-
I really dont see what the hype is about D2 PvP. It's not like you can farm that perfect weapon like you could in D1. I miss my sidearm w crowd control and reactive reload. ... but whatever. I'll do it casually regardless of Bungle's lack of forethought into maps (the real reason many teams try to team shooting), ttk, balance, and quality matchmaking.
