It's actually gotten ridiculous, to the point where people consider cheesing as "knowing what to do" and "having experience"; where people will actually ask you "Why wouldn't you do the cheese?" Idk, why would I want to actually play the game? Not everyone wants to blast through everything as quickly and cheesily and easily as possible, just so they can turn around and complain that a game has no content? I can make and LFG group and sit in a channel for 1 hour + and get a total of 3 people willing to do a no cheese run, all while watching the LFG chat light up with kids saying "590+ MUST B ECKSPEERYENCED AT SHOOTING DA ROCKET AT DA MOUF"
I get it, people have lives and not everyone wants to spend hours doing a raid. But the point of the raid is to be challenging. It's not supposed to be something that the average player has 20+ clears on 2 months into its release. It'd be one thing if the riven cheese was akin to a one-phase strat, but it's nothing more than a straight up glitch/exploit that people are using to skip a good 90% of the encounter which I'm sure you developers spent the most amount of time on.
And for everyone else, just say no to cheese, plz.

Last night I defeated riven for the first time as intended. It was immensely satisfying. In stark contrast when I defeated riven before with the cheese method, it was immensely unsatisfying. Riven of a Thousand voices is a beautiful raid encounter and it saddens me to see a vast majority of LFG players simply want to skip it. The desire to cheese riven is so widespread, it took very long to find a group of players willing to try riven the intended way. The riven cheese dampens my enjoyment of the game by limiting the playerbase willing to play the content I enjoy and that Bungie worked so hard to create. Please fix the Riven Cheese!

Don’t worry I already cluster bombed my way to 1k voices and everything else I wanted from the raid. I’m good thanks for playing ;)
-
Don't worry they already announced that they are going to rework it.
-
Why I need to play game like you want?
-
We still on this? I mean really...

Disconnecting the internet cable, dashboarding to remove adds, glitching out of an intended zone, hiding in the back in an unreachable spot.. thats cheese. The Riven DPS is what should happen once you are over powered for an event. Last Wish was desigened to be a challange under 585 Anything over and you should 100% melt those bosses. That's the power fantasy and what makes hitting max light a reward. Go cry about your melted snow flakes some place else.

It’s not a cheese it’s a legitimate strategy if you don’t want to do it don’t try and screw over the people who just want to get it done quickly
-
-blam!- you
-
You do know they put the "cheese" in the game intentionally, right?
-
That’s basically saying nerf Telesto Cluster rockets Thunderlord Sleeper Whisper
-
One phasing a raid boss is not a glitch, exploit or cheese.
-
It’s been over two months and people still complain about this?
-
Bungie has come out and said that they love when people find ways to play the game that they didn't think of (as long as it doesn't directly hurt another's gaming experience). They say it speaks to the resourcefulness and creativity of the player base. You have no idea what the developers want. Stop ranting and play the way you want to play and let others play theirs.

But when people kill Kali without doing the doors or plates that’s ok?

Edited by Chibi The Fem Raiju Boy: 11/19/2018 10:14:03 PMTo be honest. Mechanics in these raids have become just over the top. Difficulty in a raid should lie elsewhere. But mechanics should be SIMPLE to learn, SIMPLE to understand, and SIMPLE to pull off. The Templar in the Vault of Glass is a perfect example of a perfect raid boss. None of this bullshit "go to a while b defends c from x while also looking out for j or wipe mechanic v kicks in"

We have discussed this issue at length in one of your other posts. Nobody really cares. Sorry, you do and that’s okay. Not many really care.

Edited by Acidwrym: 11/19/2018 11:20:44 PMIt’s not a cheese dumbass, we’ve been over this 1000 times. Why post about it again? Why do you give AF what we do? Gtfo of here with this

Bungie, please fix matchmaking, add a solo queue, and balance the game. Worry about the major problems. Thanks
-
It's a strat. Just as legitimate as any other
-
Shut up Meg.
it isn't a cheese
Youre bitching about something that doesnt affect you in any shape, way or form. What youre doing is instead ruining other peoples fun and as far as im concerned this is far from a cheese. All the team (of guardians) is doing is using INGAME BUFF MECHANICS TO MAXIMIZE DPS AND MELT A BOSS which if you didnt know takes coordination. Its not like you can just walk in and shoot her a couple times and kill her.
-
It's not a cheese in any way, shape or form. It's called maximizing DPS. Bungie didn't include health segments or prevent 6 people being in side rooms and have never even stated it was a cheese. I'm a work smarter not harder kind of guy. If you want to do the fight the long way just make your own fireteam.

Edited by Mara Sov’s Step Bro: 11/20/2018 9:07:24 AMIts neither a glitch or exploit. The boss is designed without an immunity phase prior to damage. Its simply a phase push by highly coordinated teams which both outlevel and outgear the encounter Exploiting game physics engine to push Atheon is a "cheese" Exploiting server connectivity to no adds on Calus is a "cheese" Simply put its working as intended according to design. If you dont like it youre welcome to handicap your damage output so youre unable to push phase. This was not (and is not) possible when people were below the encounters level It LITERALLY is "just" a "one phase strat"

Bungie said they wouldn't stop it because it a smart way of using game mechanics. The only problem with it at the moment is that it counts towards a raid finish on the emblem meaning that i could have 50 on the emblem and have never done the full raid. Then I could say im a sherpa and it would work. The system is not very well thought through but the cheese wont be removed!

Edited by Slevi: 11/20/2018 12:10:36 AMAny post mentioning the Riven cheese will always be downvoted to hell. Dont worry mate. I want this "cheese" patched as well, but its a complicated one. The issue isnt with the rockets, but its with the 6 man stacking in 1 room and the "joining allies" glitch. Had they designed it so that you cant stack 6 people in 1 room, id be a happy guy. As it stands though, hard to see if they will ever patch this problem. Hopefully for future raids they learn from this mistake. No more "soft dps" phases until after mechanics are done.
