How to find out if Ace, Cayde 6's son, is real

I recently got back onto Destiny 2 and am getting Forsaken and the Annual Pass soon. I know its been 6 months since Forsaken, but this would be interesting. Each Exo has a dream in which they kill everyone they have ever known; this includes past lives before memory wipes as well. It would then follow that were we to find Cayde's dream or a copy of it, maybe in the Vex network from when he was trapped in there or the Deep Stone Crypt on Enceladus, we could see it and look for a child and his mother, possibly screaming something along the lines of "Cayde!" or "Daddy!". If they are there, then Ace is real. If they are not, Ace is not. I would quite like Bungie to do this kind of thing and make some story based on this plot in a future expansion or D3. Would you?

  • Yeah who wrote Cayde-5's journal? Reminds me of the movie Momento with Guy Pearce (sp?)

    • You assume there is speaking in the dream. Speaking when all they do is kill each other. If there were speaking, I’m sure it would have been mentioned. And yelling “Daddy”? That would be absurdly cliché and probably one of the last things they’d be expected to say, and especially wrong when attempting to kill Cayde. And that would not be enough proof. Imagine that Cayde kills one of the men in the army, then some kid who was actually the child of that now-dead man wails “daddy!” https://www.ishtar-collective.net/cards/ghost-fragment-legends#deep-stone-crypt

    • No, because Ace isn’t real. Clovis Bray implants their Exos with false memories to give them more of a reason to fight

    • As Cayde said, it really doesn't matter they ever actually existed so long as they're real to him.

    • They aren’t going to address it at all. Because that’s the point. He was an idea. And that was good enough for Cayde. Addressing it in anyway is not going to change Ace’s purpose in Cayde’s life. It doesn’t make his death any more or less sad because Cayde doesn’t care whether or not it’s true, he has already wrestled with the concept and arrived at the conclusion for himself. It’s one of the few story arcs run to a conclusion already.

    • You’re banking on the fact that they’ll even address him. Not only that, the uncertainty is what makes Cayde a tragic figure.
