So, over on the DTG reddit, JPDeathBlade made this post, laying out the Eververse 'calendar of sale' for the rest of the season, which had been datamined -

The information (which has been accurate thus far) that has been compiled shows what will be sold for Silver and bright dust, across the various tabs in Eververse. This has allowed us to also see what items will NEVER be sold for bright dust and which silver-only items will NEVER be sold again in future weeks.
I think this is unacceptable.
This has to be arguably the worst state Eververse has been in. The store layout looks fancy, but we have no prismatic matrix, we have no season 7 engram, we've had no Solstice of Heroes event engram and there has been NO INDICATION of which items are silver-only and/or have time limited availability. The season 7 armour sets have been a point of frustration, because the pieces have been rotating very badly. In previous seasons, armour appeared based on your class. If a helmet was on sale, it would be for titans if you were logged in as your titan and so on, right now it's a fixed item for a fixed class, which is very awkward for players to keep track of.
The poor rotation means some items have come up for sale once, but will not return. The "Jian" ornament for OEM is silver-only, meaning Titans only got 1 ornament in dust rotation this season, whereas warlocks and hunters got both their ornaments each already. The void shell ghost appears to be silver-only and if you didn't get it for silver when it was up the other week, it's not coming back around in the rotation, so you will be missing that one if you were trying to get all 3 elements.
We've had some very mixed messaging regarding Eververse at the start of the season, some wording made it seem like everything would be sold for both currencies at some point, another sentence states some items will be sold for silver and would be highlighted on twitter (I don't think i've seen any posts). A lot of people, myself included, have had it in their minds that we could just get everything for dust this season. I've passed on items sold for silver thinking "I'll just wait for it to come around for dust", but now the datamined 'schedule' has shot those ideas in the head. I've always played Destiny as a collector, D1 made it hard with limited vault space, D2 made it harder by gating a lot of stuff (day 1 raid emblems, the faction rally ships from Year 1, certain unreleased weapons in the database since launch). I'm more than willing to buy these items with whichever currency they go for, just give me the damn opportunity to do so! I don't like scummy psychological tactics and exploiting FOMO, you don't have to do any of that Bungie, I think people will readily buy the things they like without pressure.
The directors cut post by Luke Smith the other day highlighted that Whisper ornaments helped pay the development cost for Zero Hour, a fantastic slice of content in my opinion with a great reward. It also helps fund other content and keep the game we love going. Look, i'm still not a fan of microtransactions, especially in full priced games with paid expansions, but Destiny means a lot to me and I'm happy to keep funding this beloved studio (yeah, even when they do eff up). It's not a case that I am getting butthurt over vanity items, when we have tangible evidence that they fund production, so don't come at me with "It's just cosmetics bro". The post also says that they want to keep vanity items to Eververse as much as possible, with some exceptions, which I think is a mistake, we definitely need more ships and stuff as activity rewards, not less.
Please, Bungie, for the last few weeks of the season, do something about the Eververse rotation, put everything up for sale on the store so we can hoover up the items we're missing. Please update the 'signage' so it's clear what is for silver only and what items are time limited. You can do better, so please do better.

Some stuff is really expensive. $10 for an emote. Should be $2. $5 max.
