Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1
Hello all,
We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials.
We will provide updates here and on [url=https://twitter.com/BungieHelp]@BungieHelp[/url] as we determine the cause of this issue.
[u][b]11 AM Update[/b]: [/u]
We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific.
[u][b]12 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific.
[u][b]1 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific.
[u][b]2 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific.
[u][b]3 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific.
- Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST.
- Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored.
- Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts.
- "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update
Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific.

We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific.

Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

If not being able to play 1 game for a day while they fix a screw up, so be it. It’s not the end of the freakin world! Reading all the hatred for the people who invented and maintain the game that you “love” so much, it’s kind of sad. Have a little respect. Relax, everybody. It's a game. Nothing more. I get it, today was a day off for me as well and wanted nothing more than to help a co-worker who just got D2 get his feet underneath him. We all had plans. Bungie screwed the pooch on it and I'm sure they know that. It's getting fixed. It's not like this is "the last day you ever got to play video games". Bungie, you bungled it but thank you for accepting that and working diligently on a fix and keeping us updated. Most games nowadays would've just let it be with an "oh well, we'll fix it next time". NBD, guys...NBD.

Thank you for the updates, great that you are taking care of this quickly. I have seen another game where this was an issue and it took them 3 days to fix it so if Bungie can do it in a day more props to them. So until then I will find something constructive to do like say read a book.

I feel so sorry for so many people who have posted below... Soooo sorry. Just not at all for the reasons cited in their pitiful, whiny posts. I carved out some time to play tonight, and now I can't. Oh here's a novel idea! I will go do something else. Apparently they can't. Soooo sorry about that.

People are venting ... I want to also ... but it is what it is ... today was my last day of and back to a 12 hr shit tomorrow.. it sucks ... needed 2 more spider bounties and now will have to wait ... it is crazy it has taken ALL day for them to fix the issue ... and I thought our i t was slow at work ... I got away from destiny for awhile because of the lack of care ... almost wish a friend would not have talked me back in to playing the game ...

@Scared2Lose Yo I thought I was weird when I played d1 instead of d2 just because I wanted to go and titan skate in the cosmodrome. Does anyone else like to just revisit d1 every now and then.

If you pulled this BS in most other development industries, you would be out of business by the end of the week. You have adequately proven that Activision wasn't the problem. PS - Hire some real testers based on their skills, not tattoos, piercings and political agenda.

Regarding the account rollbacks So with the rollbacks going as far as 8:30 AM Pacific does this mean that the lore pages I got from the corridors of time after that time frame mean that i'm losing them and the triumph score? If so that's pretty messed up especially since the mission is going along with the lore pages. Feels bad man.........
