Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1
Hello all,
We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials.
We will provide updates here and on [url=https://twitter.com/BungieHelp]@BungieHelp[/url] as we determine the cause of this issue.
[u][b]11 AM Update[/b]: [/u]
We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific.
[u][b]12 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific.
[u][b]1 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific.
[u][b]2 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific.
[u][b]3 PM Update:[/b][/u]
We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific.
- Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST.
- Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored.
- Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts.
- "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update
Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific.

We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific.

Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

22 RepliesI'm just curious about your software update cycles.. Working in enterprise IT departments (networking & security), all of them have 3 environments: 1. Dev ==> the "playground" which can brake a gazillion times, no impact on live production environment 2. UAT ==> User Acceptance Testing. A number of SPOCs from other teams belong to this and this an exact replica of the production environment but the latest updates from dev environment are tested there. The application has to be used like the production environment for stability testing, bug identification, etc etc. If any issue is found, it's back to Dev. Some minor things might slip through but major things get noticed. 3. Production ==> the live environment where the business application is running and servicing cliënts (either internal or external depending on the type of application) It's hard to believe that loss of in game resources wouldn't be picked up in an UAT environment UNLESS this environment has accounts which are preloaded with max resources for testing purposes. Which would baffle me as I would think this would only exist in the dev environment. I would also find it hard to believe there is no UAT environment. In case there isn't one, please make one and make it a PTR realm (Public Test Realm) where all users or preselected users can log in and test the new patch. Then these issues can get picked up and fixed before going live. I'm not expecting this to be answered but I'm wondering this at the moment.

Since the update I’ve also lost 3 exotique weapons and all what I’ve loot a that moment. So now are we gonna get back our stuff ?

I just watched two legendary shaders disappear before my eyes as I was swapping my helmet shader.

Well, it is two days after reset and I am still without many materials. I know others are hit harder but I only game for an hour a day at most and it kind of sucks to lose 4k gunsmith materials and all my planetary and materials and glimmer. Is it possible to do like a rollback for those affected? I know each day makes this a bigger and bigger issue. especially, if you are someone grinding pinnacle activities like myself. I am still a huge supporter and honestly do not care out about outages generally. do to them usually taking place while I am working. Please keep up the good work. If this isn't resolved I will just have to go back to farming again. It just would be nice to get 205k planet mats back so I don't have to grind things again. Also, I am at least happy my legendary shards were still there :D.

6 RepliesThis is now the third (I think) server update in the last 2 months that has taken more than about 6 hours to rectify, and the previous two times were just kind of brushed under the rug. I really feel for the people who lost exotics and god rolls. Personally, I've farmed the Reckoning quite a bit trying to get the Gnawing Hunger auto rifle to drop, and this morning it finally did. This is nothing compared to those that lost rarer/unfarmable items. I feel like some kind of a "peace offering" from Bungie to their devoted supporters would go a long way to calm people down, but seeing as the previous two outages didn't result that way, I don't expect them to do so this time either. Which is sad, because those kinds of gestures are the exact things that endear companies to customers (think Chik-Fil-A). Anyway, I'm disappointed and I feel for a lot of people on here. Keep up the hard work Bungie, and a gift of some kind would be appreciated.

I'm still missing my planet specific materials. I was only running low on enhancement cores before the update, but now I need to go hunt down materials for upgrade modules .. grinding for and farming materials is not fun.

This is STILL happening!!!!! I played yesterday with no issues. Log in today and all my planetary/gunsmith materials, tokens, and the like is GONE!!!!!! Need help on this please Bungie! And yes, I have tried logging out and back in, turning off/on, and the usual fixes.

11 RepliesYou know?...... Destiny is down for a day, so play another game, watch a movie, read a book, go for a walk, go to work. Do something else, Destiny will be there tomorrow, even later today. YOUR LIFE WILL NOT END! And if you think Destiny is SOOOOO Horrible, than don't play. Means less toxicity in the game. Peace.

Alright, you got a few mins to put up or shut up. If you cant fix a patch like this in a whole day, you've gotta start looking at your code. You know why alabama has the longest constitution of any state? It's because they are so daunted by the task of consolidating and revising it, they simply keep adding to it. There are some laws that actually only exist to counteract other laws...because it would've take too long to find and revise the law they were fixing at the time. Dont be like that. Clean it up the right way, leave notes, dont be too prideful to seperate even further to purify your database management systems, no shame in doing things the 'long way' when the shortcuts are literally breaking your game. -
So I just logged on today after all the updates. And I'm missing all my silver. I have 300 or 600 silver. What should I do to get that back or is it just gone??

An hour before the servers update on January 28, I finish the activity of promoting the moon alone and when I come back in the game today, they disappeared or the emblem along with the seal of the herald. Both achievements are incomplete in my game. I need help, as it was a complicated activity to do and it took me hours there, about 3 hours. It is not easy to have to redo and it is also unfair to me for the time I wasted and frustration too. ps4 platform thank you for your attention
