Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1

Hello all, We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials. We will provide updates here and on [url=https://twitter.com/BungieHelp]@BungieHelp[/url] as we determine the cause of this issue. [u][b]11 AM Update[/b]: [/u] We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific. [u][b]12 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific. [u][b]1 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific. [u][b]2 PM Update:[/b][/u] We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific. [u][b]3 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific. - Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST. - Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored. - Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts. - "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific. [u][b]4 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific. Stay tuned for more updates. [u][b]7 PM Update:[/b][/u] Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

            I am no IT expert (like many in the comments are clamming to be) but, Judging from the updates we have been getting and the timeline we receive. It looks like Bungie is restoring data from a back up image from before the patch to restore everyone's items. and for everyone who purchased/spent silver they looked at all of the transaction history after the patch went live and reverting/refunding those as well. we have an estimated time of completion so that makes me think that they already resolved the issue and now we are just waiting for all of the data to be rewritten to the server drives.

            • As an engineer, we fully test our products, making sure they are perfect before sending them out. Bungi seems to always have these problem because they always launch unfinished, untested trash. Constantly do the same thing over and over again. It has been like this since destiny 1. If you think it will ever change, you're wrong. They are just gorillas pounding on keyboards. How long have they had broken games...since the beginning 🤪🤪🤪🤪🤗

                • You brought down the server and rolled back accounts for lost materials? I wonder how many materials I lost by not being able to play all day? How many materials were lost to people who won't have the chance to play at all? What an irresponsible, egregious company you are. I don't appreciate having to wait because of your negligence. I don't respect how hard you're working to fix this, because you don't respect how hard we as a community work to support Destiny. Not your company. The game itself. Your wallets are filled with our cash. Our time is money. Stop wasting our time. Run a test server or give up the reigns. Stop lying to us. Stop breaking your promises. We aren't made of second chances I'm sick of it. We are sick of it.

                  • I'm gonna say it like this I know this comment doesn't mean anything to you guys but, if you make a shooting game something you have to grind then reset that grind process once a week on a Tuesday then roll an update the same day then shut it down for a whole day because you messed up ur update like when it is enough I bought destiny 2 when it first came out then it was suddenly free for PS4 money wasted afterwards only to buy the last two dlcs and come back to this. Like yo get ur shit together please.

                    • I guess I should be thankful that I haven't spent a single penny on any aspect of this game. Don't get me wrong, I've only been playing the main campaign, and only just started playing a few weeks ago. But this is why Games as a Service is a problem. If I'd spent $100+ on DLC and MTX, I'd be furious at this.

                          It's a relief that they can roll back to a backup of our inventories. I'm genuinely interested to see what progression I lost after 830am PT. I was grinding pretty hard right up to the reset. Overall, very pleased we aren't losing our stuff, I don't mind the downtime, but losing our stuff would have been upsetting.

                          • Thank you bungie. You are doing the best that you are able and I apologize for the toxicity of my fellow gamers comments. I feel compelled to tell you that most reasonable people have more than one game that they are able to play. I am killing time on another game while I wait. As to the nasty comments here, (and elsewhere to be frank) the troll demographic will be what they are. They are sad sad children. To be so nasty is beneath a man. These are not men. They may never become men. And as for this 235 lbs veteran with 24 years of construction under my belt I would crush them with my bare hands if they were to have the balls or stupidity to say these things in person. They will continue to rant and rave because they are less than men. They always will be. They know it and it makes them even more mad and sad to know that a soft squishy -blam!- is all they will ever be. Thank you for all of you hard work. It is appreciated by people who are worthy of you caring what we think.
