Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1

Hello all, We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials. We will provide updates here and on [url=https://twitter.com/BungieHelp]@BungieHelp[/url] as we determine the cause of this issue. [u][b]11 AM Update[/b]: [/u] We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific. [u][b]12 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific. [u][b]1 PM Update:[/b][/u] We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific. [u][b]2 PM Update:[/b][/u] We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific. [u][b]3 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific. - Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST. - Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored. - Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts. - "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific. [u][b]4 PM Update:[/b][/u] We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific. Stay tuned for more updates. [u][b]7 PM Update:[/b][/u] Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

      This is crazy. Destiny is the main game I play. Although I had pretty hardcore plans to play today, which upon seeing that the game would be down for a good while caused me to be a bit frustrated... I would never say i had enough anger or disrespect to get on here and trash talk the devs and Bungie as a whole... some of y’all need that silver spoon yanked out of your... well ya know. Edit: just thought of this... i got Not Forgotten a few nights ago... will i still have it? 😭

We all know who the first ones to be on the servers to complete it all over again like it never happened. And they will continue to repeat the process for ever other single piece of equipment this amazing game has given us... so to all you neigh sayers suck it up. Enjoy the time you had doing something you wouldn't normally do. Your all a bunch of wieners and your parents raised you better than this.....thank you bungie for making hectic days easier..

        • Thank you for the regular updates ... Yes it is frustrating having to wait for a fix, but I refuse to jump on this toxic bandwagon, and another thing Bungie, ignore the fools who feel they deserve some kind of compensation, demanding some kind of free handout ... its a game for christs sake.

              I won't rant or complain here, but I have a few thoughts. In regards to these fairly frequent shutdowns to patch the patches; "Never test in production." I know of at least two Tuesdays in the last 4 to 8 weeks where there has been an extended outage for patching patches. Remember the rule of 5 9's for Availability. Some people say 7 9's, but that's overboard. Try to meet that 99.999% up time as a software company. I am guessing / assuming that you have redundant server farms. Possibly look into patching on a Blue / Green setup. Take down 1/2 of the servers (Blue), patch them, bring them back online; drop the other servers (Green) from the load balancers, allow a burn in time to elapse. If there are no bugs, patch the Green servers and add them back to the clusters. If there is an issue, then bring the Blue back down, and push traffic back to the un-patched "Green" servers. This allows for safer code migration, less back-outs and restores, as well as providing a more consistent up time; though it does push the bandwidth during the period that 1/2 of the servers are out of the clusters.

            • Just in case the idiots who are complaining about this didnt know....and i know this might come to be very shocking....but Destiny 2 is an ENTIRELY ONLINE game. So when you and that wittle brain of yours downloaded and installed Destiny 2...you should of been well aware that this type of shit happens. There aint ONE MF game out that doesnt have issues like these every once and awhile. You act like DEST is the only one. Besides if your talking as much trash as you are about the game...leave? Dest will add 5 new players for every 1 that drops out from whining because they couldnt play there wittle video game ...Sorry devs some of us who actually game get it. Do what you gotta do and take your time team.

            • "My online game is down." is, quite literally, a first world problem. First, lighten up folks. (no pun intended) The people working to resolve this are just that, people trying to fix a problem. You can rant all you want at the company or the management but keep in mind a bunch of coders, systems people and others are working damn hard to get things resolved so you can go back to having fun. To those on the front line at Bungie, I feel for you. I've made my living making the Internet work for people and know what it's like when things go down. It's not a good feeling. Keep up the good work.

            • I like how everyone is complaining about how bad bungie and their devs are but I dont think they have played Dayz before. Bohemia is a lot worse than this, they can barely keep their community updated and can barely fix the smallest bug.

                • I finished the Corridors of Time runs by 9:40 AM PST I got my Komodo-4FR and first We Ran after one of the greatest comp games of my life immediately after reset. Why.

                  • All I can think of when I read these unnecessary toxic comments is “Stop it. Get some help.” Thank you Michael Jordan for providing such a great phrase. Thank you Bungie for trying to continue to make this game better, and maybe look at all of these toxic comments as a way of proving that your game is great because people’s day was ruined because your game was down.

                  • To all the people being smart asses and dick heads to people that are mad about this bs and rightfully so this game has been out for YEARS there is no reason that On reset day some bs update should be stealing people’s inventory and servers to be down it’s an enormous obvious lack of caring from the developers end to have been doing this since they “WENT TO SCHOOL FOR THIS , APPLIED FOR THIS , and HAVE BEEN DOING SO SINCE THEY GOT INTO THEIR CAREERS” people have the right to be upset this isn’t a reg game it’s an hours of grinding game the anger is perfectly normal and justified just let them be mad and chill with the bad backlash like your some forum raider hired buy bungie to dick ride them and fight their internet battles. 😂

                    • Leaving this aside can you please fix the arms dealer's bug for the quest "Make Bows not War". I would very much appreciate it since I've been trying to get that bow since I started playing.
