I already spoke my peace, but the more I've thought about it, the more I have to say specifically: While a rollback makes sense, players who on this very thread have pointed out they're now losing random exotic drops, god rolls, or substantial progress on pinnacle/harder exotic quests are totally getting shafted. It's no longer about losing a day of game time and replaceable consumables, but a very real impact on their in game experience, which very well may affect them for a substantial amount of time.
I saw one person mention Igzanmi's burden being out the window for them now and someone else mention losing all their progress on the Iron Banner Quest that they're now stuck waiting on till the next one comes along. I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Do you know what a roll back is? Everyone's account will be as it was before the reset. That means no missing engrams, restored currency, and restored materials. In truth, this is not the end of the world. We will go on playing the game and supporting the developers. If you and anyone else disagrees with that, no one is stopping you from uninstalling the game and moving on to something else.

Edited by Frazveragan: 1/29/2020 2:38:38 AMDid you even bother reading Bungie's announcement right there up above saying the rollbacks meant characters are reverting to a state prior to 8:30AM PST today, and that any progress that had been made between 8:30AM and 10AM PST today might be lost, that silver purchases on the last leg of a weekly reset are now being refunded and thus lost, which is why there are people on here claiming they have exotics/pinnacle gear/god rolls or even cosmetics they wanted that are now toast? My guess is no, you had not actually read or correlated any of that, but were just thrilled to stumble across a post which gave you your moment of self righteous glory to echo an ancient "Bye Felicia, hail Bungie" line that just isn't very clever any more. Luckily, I hadn't played at all today and lost nothing. Amazingly, it is possible for someone to say "I enjoy this game tremendously and recognize there's a ton of hard work that goes into it, but I'm still dissatisfied with what happened today." I realize, it must be mind boggling someone like that exists. Take a deep breath. The Bungie team are professionals. They don't need you to defend them.

You are an absolute savant with words my man.
-
LOL, thanks.

If I lost progress on a tough Exotic quest, this game would dumped faster than my local dumpster.
-
I did I lost a rare bounty from Ada!

Quests aren't that bad they are always gonna give you same thing when you complete them. The bigger issue is losing things like anarchy, 1k voices, or even terahbah. Losing the rng stuff is way worse cuz you might get it this next raid you do or it could take the next 2 months before it drops. Yes quests can be difficult but at least you still know what you are getting and can at least somewhat control when you get it.
-
WAIT People lost their Exotic gear or am I misreading here?
-
You aren't misreading. Basically they are resetting everyones account to where it was at 8:30 am. So about 2 hours before the servers where brought offline. Absolutely anything done, dropped, or earned in between that time is completely gone or undone.
-
There are people in the topic thread saying based off the original post's info that the rollback affects any progress that took place today between 8:30 and 10am PST they are losing exotics they landed during those times...
-
Ohhhh gotcha. Only thing I'm praying gets refunded for me is buying that galloping emote Eververse had lol. Hope they can get those back otherwise a lot of players will be ditching the game
-
Maybe we'll all get back on and find out it's not playing out like this, but you raise another good point I just mentioned: If something like that was on its last leg of the weekly reset, your shafted. What do they say to the guy who bought silver this morning at 9am PST with the sole purpose of acquiring an emote, ship, armor, etc that's now gone due to the reset?
-
I think they refunded the silver, which is why it took so long to come back online. They had some people checking the transactions during the down time and after it went back up refunded everyone.
-
Right, I meant that there are players who actually missed out because of their fix. Yeah they got their silver back, but if someone had purchased silver solely to buy something that was going to reset with the weekly, then they got shafted since that item would no longer be available.
