Updated 7 PM - [BUNGIE] Known Issue: Missing Currencies and Materials after Update 2.7.1

Hello all, We are actively investigating an issue where players may have lost some of their Glimmer, Bright Dust, Infusion Materials, and/or other types of game currencies. As part of the investigation, we are bringing Destiny 2 offline to prevent further loss of materials. We will provide updates here and on @BungieHelp as we determine the cause of this issue. 11 AM Update: We believe we have identified the cause of this issue and are working on a fix internally. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline until we have a better understanding of the timeline for this fix. We will provide another update by 12 PM Pacific. 12 PM Update: We are testing a fix for this issue internally, including investigating resolutions that would restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will continue to be offline while we test this fix. We will provide another update by 1 PM Pacific. 1 PM Update: We are continuing to perform tests of possible solutions to restore missing currencies and materials to players. Destiny 2 will remain offline until the issue can be resolved. We will provide another update by 2 PM Pacific. 2 PM Update: We have validated a fix for this issue and will be rolling back all player accounts to how they were before Update 2.7.1 went live. Destiny 2 will remain offline for several more hours as we deploy this fix. Another update will be provided by 3 PM Pacific. 3 PM Update: We’re continuing work to fix the issue that caused loss of currencies and materials. All player accounts will be rolled back to the state they were in at around 8:30 AM Pacific. - Players may have to redo any progress or quests they completed between 8:30 - 10 AM PST. - Purchases made between 8:30 - 10 AM PST will need to be redone. Silver spent during that time will be restored. - Destiny 2 Silver purchases from the platform store will be added back to player accounts. - "The Pidgeon and the Phoenix" Lore being removed is a separate issue and will be resolved in a future update Another update will be provided around 4 PM Pacific. 4 PM Update: We’re continuing to work on player account rollbacks and estimate that Destiny 2 will be brought back online at 7 PM Pacific. Stay tuned for more updates. 7 PM Update: Rollback for player accounts is complete and Destiny 2 servers are back online. Players may experience login issues as services return to normal.

Bungie, I love your game I truly do. I do wish there were more consistency in the story lines because it is year 6 and I still have no Idea what we are doing and what the end game is for the story. Besides that negative they have usually been pretty good. My favorite 2 have been Taken king and Forsaken. I will say now your PVP direction has been horrific at best and it saddens me to see the state of PVP like this. I could make a whole page of what could be better in PVP and how it could be balanced better. I really loved PVP in D1 and feel like you were going in a better direction in D1 pvp until the sidearm meta but I digress. On the state of content you did a fantastic job with Forsaken. I feel that everyone would agree that if you ditched these stupid season passes and spent time creating every year a Forsaken DLC each time with the same extent of content would be way more widely received positive. Now i know you have some issues with man power which is why Im completely blown on how you can't hire more people with the amount of money you are racking in with crazy amount from F***ing eververse (which im sorry is a POS and ruined alot of the game) and from the season pass. I can go into so much detail on why this is ruining the game and might make a whole post on what I love about the game and STRONGLY DISLIKE. I would also assume most of my gripes and resolutions to these issues a vast majority of the community would agree. I also would like to state that your updates have been absolute failures. I know coding is difficult and I would be a lot more ok with the situation if it wasnt for the AMOUNT OF ABSOLUTE failures in every update. LITERALLY EVERY UPDATE HAS NEVER GONE Smoothly and you always say the game will be up at a certain time and always takes hours after the update if not the whole day to fix another issue that crashes the game. Maybe if you actually tried to test more before you released an update maybe this wouldnt happen so much. I also know that you should 100% start these updates in the EARLY MORNING due to a vast majority of people get off at 5pm. If you started updates at 7am that would give more than ample time to act if issues arrive. ALSO DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT DO UPDATES ON TUESDAY! Why? Do them on Monday since the week is over and 90% of the player base are done with all activities. Not the busiest time of the week since it is reset. Just trying to think and be more aware of the community's feedback.......the better part of it at-least who actually have knowledge of the game and dump as much time into it as I do. Most people just comment because they think they know how the game should be even though they cant complete 50% of the content and just -blam!-. GOOD LUCK BUNGIE DO BETTER PLEASE FOR ALL OUR SAKES. IF YOU ALSO RELEASE TRIALS BEFORE YOU FIX PVP I SWEAR THIS WILL BE YOUR BIGGEST FAILURE YET. Think before you release it since it will be the most anticipated game mode to be re-released.
