There’s absolutely no reason to run this over Nezarec’s Sin. I thought I would try swapping to Dire after getting my super up to get my super back even faster, but no, it really doesn’t do anything at all. I destroyed a mod of probably a dozen ads in gambit including a powerful enemies and nothing. It is in serious need of a buff. Or is this a hidden way of sun setting exotics by making them worthless?

Edited by WulfPak666: 4/11/2021 3:34:46 PMSkull of Dire Ahamkara need a little extra boost and maybe a rework. Here's an off the cuff idea. *Buff up your damage resistance to stupid amounts during the nova bomb animation. *Turns top tree nova bomb into Scatter Bomb and bottom tree into Lance. *Killing multiple enemies (or guardians) return super energy, higher the classification the more energy. So trash mobs, maybe 10%, majors, Champions, guardians/supers 15-20%, minibosses up to 25-30% (Maximum refund of energy is capped at 30% regardless of how many you kill, which is roughly where Shards of Galanor leaves you now under ideal situations)

It was nerfed because of a dungeon... It was fun for warlocks, nerf it.
-
They just need to give us OG Obsidian Mind
-
You should have gotten back at least a quarter of your super. So useless...nah. Not the best, yes
-
99% of warlock exotic armour is useless.
-
Seems bungies favourite child is a titan, The rich kid is a hunter so they always please it so it keeps paying the bills... warlocks are the floaty kid

Edited by Reptilliano: 4/8/2021 9:08:12 PMAlmost all warlock (armor exotics) are useless Stag: die first and be gifted with an healing rift LMAO and there are many other examples i can make with all respect to other classes do have it aswell. so far i think titans & warlocks have the most Underated Garbage Armor Exotics.
-
It does not feel particularly good to use as an exotic. The only time I actually find Skull of Dire Ahamkara useful is to run Bad Juju as a primary, with a special that has Thresh, but only while playing Altars of Sorrow, maybe Proving Grounds but I haven't tried it there yet. It needs a buff
-
I remember players cleaning house in gambit with skull nova bombs. Then Bungie nerfed it and made it useless.
-
Yeah... So much for Bungie no longer wanting to hammer in the nail that sticks out a little bit, because that’s what gives the Exotics ( and by extension, the game ) personality. The Skull of Dire Ahamkara Nerf was a dramatic over-reaction to Zero Hour mission, where Warlocks were using it to quickly, and efficiently kill the Servitors, and Shanks, in the final room, while regaling most of their super energy. So, they nerfed it into the ground, and now no one uses it.

Edited by PhNx Hellfire: 4/8/2021 7:39:26 PMIf you knew the stat bonuses on that helmet, you would not be saying that. At all. That is a helmet worthy of being used to save a warlock low on stat build during a grandmaster run.

Honestly, the should rework Nezerac's Sin to increase the damage you deal with Nova Bomb. Maybe even improve the vortex effects of the subclass as well. Have Skull's super regen increased to be in line with Shards of Galanor, Ursa Furiosa and Phoenix Protocol and it's good. Now that we have Battle Harmony there's no reason to have two exotics for super regen that are also tied to your weapon damage type. Give Battle Harmony some breathing room and give us warlocks a better reason to use Nova Bomb in endgame PVE.
-
Just make it grant lance and be the nighthawk for warlocks, problem solved.
-
That's basically how they've been making people stop using stuff, make it worthless. Bright side is that usually something sticks out as the meta, so new stuff to chase.
-
They should scrub exotic armour altogether and just make exotic mods that can be slotted in any piece
-
Used it yesterday, it sucks, it used to be fun, it used to made me have more fun in the game and it seems like bungo is slowly taking away the fun from the game with some BS nerfs and decisions man
-
Bungie: understood. nerfing sleeper stimulant
-
"We are listening and soon nerfing Ursa to keep it in line with other super regen exotics, got you". - Bungo
-
After it was nerfed it still looked cool. It is something positive at least...
-
Bungie takes away super regenerating exotics....but then adds Thresh to PvP? Wtf.
-
Yeah, Skull got absolutely butchered. A shame, as it has that Riven skull ornament and I'd love to build an aesthetic around that
-
It took a massive nerf a few seasons ago. Been worthless ever since. Sad because nova was always my go to and that helmet was by far the best exotic to pair with it.

Ah, a casualty of the big "Super Regen Buffing Exotic Nerf", circa "Shards of Galanor back to back Blade Barrage and never ending Ursa Furiosa Wall". Yeah, just slapping on a bunch of void weapons and a Nezarec's Sin is a much better move. -
Alot of the subclass oriented exotics are garbage and they need to stop. Shoot some of the neutral ones are just as bad, I am looking at you Vesper Of Radius
-
Edited by ZoniCat: 4/8/2021 5:59:16 PMI wouldn't mind if it was reworked to severely weaken nova bomb, but return it to it's original super refunding glory AND double natural super regeneration rate. So like, If it dealt half damage and in a smaller blast radius, and lost vortex//tracking + seekers (based on tree), rendering it as a very stronk grenade that you can cast super often.
-
All the regen exotics were fun to use, and as everyone knows, Bungie despises fun, so fun had to go.
