My two cents on Iron Banner - Fortress.

I would like to preface this with the fact that a majority of my playing was in the Freelance playlist. Therefore, some elements of what I'm about to say might not apply in the same fashion or even apply at all. And most importantly, this is all my personal opinion. If your opinion differs from mine, good! I encourage you to speak up! Make yourself heard! The Game Mode. The bottom line is, it's alright. It has some fun elements, but there are some glaring elements that takes it down from being a great mode. Match length-wise, it's a tad too long for my liking. Having to reach 125 can prove a drag especially if teams are evenly matched. It does not do wonders for my mental health... Also, everytime there's bubble titans in the match, a vast majority are relegated on the opposing team, where as my team gets one, ME! Matchmaking & Connectivity. In the beginning, the matchmaking felt punitive, as wins seemed to be very few and far between. Also, during some matches, there were moments where opponents were rubberbanding or the like. Ranking Up & Reward Structure. Whether the RNG is bugged or not, it's not for me to say, but having to do a rank reset to even obtain the entire armor set(due to one piece not dropping) is not fun. In my optics at least, it does not help with the retainalibity of players in the mode if it's by design. Hiding the emblem and the Shader behind the reset, with having to reach rank 16 once more to get the shader is a bit heartbreaking for my Shader-loving self. Even with a multiplier of 11.0x, the rank-up progress feels sluggish, especially when you're nearing the 5000-mark. The fluctuating rank rep is confusing, because there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to why it does so. I personally would like some explanation as to why it might be doing that. Also the amount of Blowouts i've been getting has been excessive. on top of that, having matches where you get nothing but glimmer is a bit disheartening. I know Bungie most likely wants you to spread out your progress across the two weeks Iron Banner is here, but having reduced the occurances of IB in a season, it doesn't help if your progress is slowed as well. Triumphs & Titles. The gilding triumph where wins are required felt punitive as I mentioned earlier, wins in this mode seemed very few and far between.
